Buffy:

Xander has been in some sort of summer catch up course and is now
a College Frosh. He suplements his college fund by working
part-time for Giles and as a student councellor. He is studying
a Drama major, minoring in mythology, having discovered a talent
for performance and putting the long hours of research for the
scooby gang to some academic use.


Buffy, Willow and Tara have moved into an off campus house
together, Xander moves in with them having moved out from his
parents.  

Anyas source of income is revealed as a investment fund she
opened in the 1940's as part of her cover when cursing a
philandering bank clerk, it's big enough to provide a fair income
but she's not rich. She gets a part-time job at the local TV
station on reception ("KLWT television, what do do you want?")
but around episode 5 the film critic gets sacked for drunkenness
and she gets offered the job as a fillin but gets made permenent
when her numbers soar.

Giles opens a classic music and memorobelia store. He continues
to act as mentor to Buffy and the gang, he also has a regualr
spot on Classic rock night at the Bronze (they're trying to
attract the older crowd) and often can be found jamming at the
Expresso Pump [Sorry, I love his singing voice and want to hear
more]. During the year he applies for US citizenship which he
gets. Olivia returns at a few points in the series, near to the
end she and Giles decide to get married.

Graham quits the military after the initiative is wound up and
takes up a full time TA and research post in the UCS History
department where his quiet competance, easy manner, teaching
skills and encyclopedic knowledge of American and European
military history soon earns him great prestige within the
department. He comes out as Gay and befriends the gang,
especially Willow and Tara and together they come to terms with
the difficulties of being out on campus.

Riley returns but dies in a bizare accident involving dental
floss. Buffy is cut up for precisely 2.65 episodes until she
meets up with some other beefstick. In episode 16 she realises
that he has even less personality than Riley so, after a brief
affair with Anya (who's been getting bicurious from seeing Willow
and Tara being such a normal couple together) which ends well
with then still as friends, she swears off relationships of the
heart until after graduation.

Xanders, much, older brother comes back into town with his 12
year old daughter Dawn in episode 3. The brother, an architect
and construction manager, was married but his wife has left him
for an aerobics instructor. The brother, Frank, buys a house in
town and starts on his first job, the rebuilding of Sunnydale
High. Following subtle hints from Giles and the gang Frank
includes a multidenominational chapel in his design which he puts
where the library used to be. He also takes a guest lecturers
position in the UCS design department where he teaches a few
classes in architectural design each year. Around episode 12 he
finds out about the Hellmouth, slayers etc when Buffy saves him
from a vampire attack when he's doing an evening inspection of
the construction site.

Dawn absolutely idolises her Uncle Xander and spends as much time
with him as possible, even following him into lectures (although
she's very well behaved and just sits next to him). Around
episode 7 Willow anmd tara discover that Dawn has untapped,
immature magical talent, she has the potential to be incredibly
powerful. Together they and Giles help her to discover her
power, control it and use it to help Buffy. She helps them to
derat Amy.

Drucilla returns for a few eps but does little more than taunt
Spike and mix up a little trouble before running off with a
Fungus demon.

Spike effectively becomes a full time member of the scoobies for
his own protection. Around episode 9 he is offered what ever he
mosrt desires by a spirit, he asks for the chip to be removed.
the spirit tells him that it will be done but something else will
be put in it's place (law of Karmic returns). Spike insists and
the chip is removed, however the replacement is his soul. Unlike
Angel the newly ensouled Spike is able to rationalise what he did
as a vampire, he can't kill anymore but he can handle the fact
that he killed in the past (well he stil has some stress about it
but he can handle it).

Joyce starts dating again, nothing heavy just a bit of
socializing and fun, getting back in the swing of things. She
has also taken up self defense classes which leads her to take up
Aikido as a way of keeping fit, it turns out that she has a
natural aptitude for it. One evening (around episode 18) Joyce
and Buffy are attacked by a newly risen vamp just outside Joyces
house, Buffy is knocked down but before she can get back up she
is suprised to see her mother first stun then stake the vamp.

When Amy is deratted she is intially upset at being a rat for so
long but accepts it when Oz returns and they discover a common
bond. They initiate a romance and leave, Oz has enrolled at a
midwestern school studying Music and Theatre, Amy intends to take
her highschool equivelency exams and enrol at the same school to
study dance and theatre. Willow says that she's happy for them
both but there is a small tear in her eye as she watches them
drive off into the sunset.

Season arc. Around episode 5 Giles discovers an ancient prophesy
that a dark power will rise which the slayer alone will be unable
to face. Only with the help of the 'Child of Golden Magic', the
'Wise Fool' and the Army of light can she hope to survive. It
turns out that Dawn is said child. One night (episode 18) Xander
is attacked by a Feoral demon when walking Dawn home. As he is
knocked down Dawn screams a spell. Xander writhes on the ground
for a second then leaps to his feat and pounds the demon to a
greasy stain with his bare hands. He asks Dawn what spell that
was, she doesn't know. After a long discussion with gang they
decide to sleep on it and Xander has a dream where an indisticnt
shape explains that Dawn is a chosen sourcer who has lived many
times and is born again when she is needed. The shape says that
the 'greatest of all evils' walks the land. As well as physical
strength and the courage already within him he is now able to
walk the spirit realms and return safely (ie he doesn't need an
anchor). Together he and Dawn will help Buffy to fight and
defeat the evil, they are soldiers in the army of TPTB.

The evil warned of in Xanders dream turns out to be The First
Evil at full power (what we saw in Amends was only a projection)
backed by an army of the Scourge. After a fight scene, which
makes 'Primeval' look like a playground squabble by comparison,
Buffy, Xander and Dawn reach the embodiment of The First Evil.
they encirlce it beating off magical and physical attacks and
rend it to three parts which are cast through dimentional portals
(handily created by Willow, Tara and Giles) into separate demon
dimensions so banishing it (but not all of it's effects) for a
very, very long time.


I think about this way too much don't I?
