This might be convoluted, but Buffy's lawyer could have gotten her a copy
of the video taped plans to convict (frame?) her. How many times would she
watch and hear the Mayor and Judge conspire to plant evedence to ensure a
conviction. All they had on her was she was kneeling next to Kendra, she had
Mr. Pointy on her, but she could'nt have used that to cut Kendra's throat,
and she would'nt have had any of Kendra's blood on her self or clothes. A cut
artery sprays blood.
Because of these two men Buffy lost 14 years of her life and all of her
daughter's. Buffy may not leave the house for weeks after her release, so she
spends the time to watch this tape repeatedly,but only when she is in the
house alone. She keeps the tape in her room, perhaps hidden or not, and then
Kat finds it. Kat thinks about her words to her Mother.

It's just some ideas.
