E (or anyone) I don't suppose theres any chance of a bibliography
for these. I'm seeing a lot of 'ships here that I've not found
the fics for yet.

I suppose I do need to do that. Hope I can track 'em all down...

Actually what do people think of the possibility of an online fic
database where people can search for fics by say author name,
pairing, rating, classification (eg angst, humour &c), date first
published &c? Should be possible with something like MySQL and
PHP. Rather than an archive of fic have it storing URLs to other
archives which store the actual fics? Just a thought.

May be even used XML files to store the data and
JSPs/CGI/Servlets to do the search and XSL(T) processing.
Entities could look something like (comments/notes in [], example
in ** **) :

<fanfic>
<title>
[The title of the fic. Required field, one and only one]
**"In Harms Way 1/?"**
</title>
<author>
[Author detils
<name>
[The name of the author. Required field, one and only one]
**"Kathryn Merteuil"**
</name>
<emailaddr>
[The authors email address. Optional field, one only]
**KathrynMerteuil@b...**
</emailaddr>
</author>
<pairings>
[One or more pairings. Optional, if pairing tag used then must
have at least one pair ]
<pair>
[A pairing that appears in the fic.]
**"Willow/Tara"**
</pair>
<pair>
**"Willow/Harmony"**
</pair>
<pair>
**"Harmony/Tara"**
</pair>
</pairing>
<rating>
[The rating of the fic, Required field, one and only one]
**R**
</rating>
<classification>
[The classification of the fic, not sure if this should be
required or optional]
<class>
[A class]
**"Humour"**
</class>
<class>
**"Femslash"**
</class>
</classification>
<summary>
[A brief summary of the fic]
**"Willow and Tara cast a spell which has unforseen results"**
</summary>
<source value="URL|DESC">
[Where the fic can be obtained from. Required field]
[If value="URL" then will contain one or more <uri> tags]
[If value="DESC" then will contain one and only one <desc>
tag]
<uri>
[A URL from which the fic can be downloaded]
**http://www.abooth.demon.co.uk/fanfic/inharmsway.htm**
</uri>
<desc>
[A description of how to obtain the fic]
[This is purely an example here, as a URL was supplied
there shouldn't be a <desc> tag]
**"Email author for a copy"**
</desc>
</source>
</fanfic>

So what do people think?

I like it, a lot. It would be difficult to do, keeping track of it
all, but if it can be done...
