Radom's Rant:

Well, looks like I hit a few nerves out there.

Good.

When I first wrote "Diary of a Young Woman In Love", I didn't intend
for anyone to take it seriously as a story. Though I graciously accepted
the positive feedback I recieved. Thank you all.

I wrote "Diary" as my personel comment on some...ok, a LOT of the Fic
out there. Why did I express myself this way? Simple, everyone wants
Positive Feedback, no one wants Constructive Feedback. Believe me, when
I ask for FB on a story I dread someone writing back telling me what's
wrong with it. But I accept it as a necessary evil. I want my stories to
be as good as possible.

Most people out there though are not as easy going as I am. Point out
where their spelling could use a trip through Spell Check or show them
where their punctuation needs work and it's like you killed their baby.
Question the way they present various characters, well... you better
duck.

Now am I a professionel or "Paid" writer? Far from it, the last time I
got paid to write was when I got free tickets to the movies when I did
reviews for my high school paper. And that was many, many moons ago.

No I'm a working class slob. I spend 50-60 hours a week at my job and
when I get home I write Fan Fic for fun. Otherwise the only writing I do
is when my captain has me write up procedure manuals for our departments
Hostile Entry Responce Team or crime scene reports. (Yeah, I'm a cop,
deputy actually.)

Now many of the authors I've come across are very good, in some cases as
good as many "Paid" authors. Their stories are equal to any we see on
Buffy, X-Files, Highlander, etc.

But.... You just knew there was a but in here somewhere.

But many of the authors out there, how do I put this? Suck.

No this is the other big problem, if you say anything bad about someone.
well then you must be bashing or flaming them. Two points; 1.) the First
Amendment (There are times I think Jefferson was an idiot for putting it
in the Bill of Rights, usualy I start feeling this way when my brethren
and I have to protect a bunch of Klan or Aryan Brotherhood types when
they go on a march. All the while being called Kike or Injun, both true
though not very flattering.) But it is the law of the land and over all
is a good thing. 2.) if you don't like what someone sent you there's
this little thing on your keyboard called a Delete key. Use it.

"Diary of a Young Woman in Love" was my way of pointing out some of the
inconsistancies I've come across. I was trying to get my point across
through satire and parody.

I was not trying to defame anyone on the show. Truely IMHO Buffy is one
of the best shows on TV. Of course when you consider what all is on now
a days, that isn't as good a compliment as it should be. The actors and
actresses don't play their parts, they become them. I was trying with
"Diary", to show how someone with as close an interprtation of Buffy's
characters as you can get without being named Joss would react to how
they are presented by some authors.

Well that's about all I have to say. Have any comments? Feel free, love,
hate, doesn't matter at least you read it. Besides, I still got a Delete
key.

Radom2000-The guy in the back of the
theater you just can't get to shut up.
