Note: This was written as a response to a challenge I saw here a couple of =
day=92s ago. I accidentally erased it so I=92m not sure if this meets all t=
he requirements, if not Mea Culpa.ell me what you think.
Back Story : I=92m gonna mess with cannon for both stories here so pay atte=
ntion. Firstly Highlander: Season 6 didn=92t happen, and Duncan never kille=
d Richie.=20
BtVS: Buffy died at the hands of the master, and became immortal, but no on=
e thought anything of it cause Xander performed CPR. Then we follow canon u=
ntil Becoming part 2 where Willow was killed by Angelus minions when they a=
ttacked the library. Buffy killed Angelus, and stopped Acathla, but never l=
eft town, planning to attend Willow=92s funeral before leaving. Because Wil=
low has now become immortal, Buffy never ends up leaving. The two notice th=
e Buzz, but not being able to find a source just learn to ignore it. Again =
we follow canon until the point where the story starts which is about 2 mon=
ths after The Body.
Note 2: Sorry about not getting smutty but htis is going out on Buffy loves=
Willow and BuffywantsWillow so I can't be dirty.
Note 3: I need to decide which immortal should show up to give Amanad a har=
d time. Should it be Duncan, Richie, Nick, or maybe Joe( I know he's not im=
mortal but he's a good guy.) Any help in this regard would be appreciated.=

As Buffy and Willow walked into the diner, their hands entwined, they were =
assaulted by the buzz. =93See? I told you it was the same thing.=94 Buffy w=
hispered in her lover=92s ear, before scanning the diner looking for the bl=
onde from the night before, and finally spotting her in the back corner of =
the eatery.=20
Amanda was shocked as she felt two presences, wondering in the girl was set=
ting her up. =93So you weren=92t kidding when you said your lover was like =
us too.=94 She said as the two women approached the table. =93Please, sit.=
=94
=93Amanda, this is Willow, Willow, Amanda.=94 Buffy said by way of introduc=
tion.
=93So this is the woman who says we=92re immortal?=94 Willow said keeping h=
er voice even and low.
=93I don=92t say you=92re immortal, fate does. I=92m just being the messeng=
er.=94 Amanda said in the same even tone.
=93So explain what you mean by immortal.=94 Buffy said wanting more informa=
tion.
=93Ok, here goes. Immortal=92s exist. I=92m 1200 years old, and I=92m nowhe=
re near the oldest. Actually the oldest is a friend of mine named Methos, a=
nd he=92s at least 5000. Anyway we=92re all foundlings, no one knows where =
we come from. We age normally until the time of our first death, then an en=
ergy, called the quickening, heals us and brings us back to life. After tha=
t any injury heals right up, with one exception. If your head comes away fr=
om your neck, it=92s all over. After their first death lucky immortals are =
found by others, taken in and taught the rules of the game and how to use a=
sword. That=92s what I=92m offering to do for you.=94=20
=93And the unlucky ones?=94 Willow asked her face a little pale.=20
=93Are found by immortals who decide to take an easy quickening.=94 Amanda =
replied looking Willow dead in the eye.
=93Take a quickening?=94 Buffy asked.
=93When we kill another of our kind, the energy that makes them immortal in=
absorbed into our bodies, making us stronger. The legends say that one day=
when there are few of us remaining, we will be drawn to one place and figh=
t until there is but one of us left. That immortal will have all the power =
of every immoral who ever lived. The power to rule humanity forever. Or the=
power to help humanity grow, advance, prosper. That=92s why we fight, thos=
e of us who care about humanity, we fight to protect them. My friends the M=
acCleods are a good example, the two of them are probably among the best wi=
th the sword, but they don=92t hunt for sport, they defend themselves, but =
if either of them wins the game, then humanities future will be safe.=94=20
=93So why don=92t you just try to kill us.=94 Buffy asked angry that someon=
e would presume to rule the world, it being part of her job description to =
stop that sort of thing, and taking it out on the only target at the table =
she was willing to attack.=20
Suddenly all three of the women felt a new presence, and looked to the door=
to see a tall, dark haired man enter the diner, and stalk towards the thr=
ee with fire in his eyes.=20
=93Amanda!=94 exclaimed the man, baring his teeth, =93It only took 300 year=
s, but I=92ve found you.=94=20
=93Anton, how nice to see you again.=94 Amanda=92s tone belied the stateme=
nt, and so did the steel in her eyes.
=93Maybe we should continue this conversation somewhere a little more priva=
te, don=92t you think.=94 The man proposed.
=93Why not, I was just explaining to the girls how our lives work, I guess =
a demonstration is in order.=94 Amanda said calmly, her voice full of confi=
dence.

Five minutes later the girls were in one of Sunnydale=92s many dingy abando=
ned warehouses, watching as their new friend fought a duel to the death. To=
Buffy it was obvious from the start of the fight that Anton was hopelessly=
outclassed, and the fight only lasted two minutes before Amanda had him di=
sarmed, and on his knees. Willow turned her head into Buffy=92s shoulder as=
the sword began it=92s deadly arc, while the slayer watched intently, usin=
g this opportunity to learn how her new friend fought.=20=20
As Anton=92s head hit the dust covered floor, a cloud of light floated out =
of his body and towards Amanda, then all of the sudden bolts of lightning l=
ashed out form the walls of the building as well as the decapitated body la=
ying on the floor and struck the platinum blonde.
Wondering what was causing the strobe light effect, Willow turned away from=
her beloved=92s shoulder in time to watch the woman she=92d just met float=
off the ground, her head thrown back and start to scream.
When the show seemed to be over, the women slowly, apprehensively made thei=
r way over to the woman who=92d offered to teach them how to survive as imm=
ortals. She looked dead. Then all of the sudden she sat up with a gasp, and=
said =93Pour toi, Jean-Pierre.=94 Then after a moment of silence, she swit=
ched back to english and said to the girls =93That was a quickening, I abso=
rbed his strength, and now we should gather up the swords and vamoose, caus=
e the police will be here soon.=94
=93No they won=92t=94 Buffy said, =93The police here are to quote my high s=
chool principal =91Deeply Stupid=92. Still we should scram.=94 She grabbed =
Anton=92s katana in one hand, gathered Willow in the other arm, and gesture=
d for Amanda to follow them =93We=92ll go to my place.=94=20
