One more challenge, then I'll stop.

A few days after Joyce died, a little boy walks into the Magic Box, asking Giles for Buffy. Giles isn't sure about this child, who seems to have a too-serious face, but tells him that he'll let Buffy know that he's looking for her. The child leaves, but before he goes, he tells Giles, "Oh, Jenny doesn't blame you."

The child, in case you were wondering, is Cole Sear, the kid who saw dead people in "The Sixth Sense". Cool movie! The idea is that Cole is in Sunnydale with his mom, visiting his aunt or uncle or (Name your own relative), and once he's in town, he sees the spirits of the dead in Sunnydale. Particularly, the spirits of those who were especially close to Buffy and the Scooby Gang. The main story, of course, is that Cole has a message to deliver from Joyce to Buffy, something that will give Buffy and Dawn a sense of closure about their mom's death. Perhaps you could tell this story from the POV of Joyce, who doesn't yet know that she's dead(the way Bruce Willis didn't know in the movie), and give her a final chance to say goodbye to Buffy and Dawn.
