Part 3
Willow smiled to herself at the thought of that first "date" with Faith, it
had been wonderful, she and Faith had sat there drinking mochas and talking
until the sun had set. They had both kept clear of the topic of demons and
other forces of the supernatural, at least until they were on their way to
the Bronze…

Willow and Faith walked hand in hand towards the Bronze, after all the
mochas and talking Willow regained her bearings and was able to remember how
to get there. She invited Faith to come along and meet her other friends
that she had spoken of that afternoon. Faith wasn't too happy about meeting
this Buffy chick, she seemed to take the shy redhead for granted, dumping
all of her boyfriend problems on Red and ignoring the fact that Willow was
so obviously lonely. If I had a friend like Red here I'd want to spend more
time with her then that powderpuff boyfriend Red described. However that
Xander friend of hers sounds pretty funny, when he isn't screwing around
with bimbo of a girlfriend. I really don't think Willow likes that Cordelia
girl, sounds like she's one of those "I'm so popular you can't stand it
types".

Willow watched as Faith's face started to contort up in anger. I wonder
what she's thinking about, must be something horrible if she's getting this
upset. After talking to the girl all day Willow had learned enough about
Faith to know she didn't like to show many emotions, if something was
getting her this upset it had to be something big. "Hey, what's running
though that head of yours, you look like you're going to tear something's
head off." I hope it's not me, Willow shuddered at the thought, no way, she
and I are becoming friends, it's something else.

"Oh, it's nothing, I was just thinking about home and my mom," Faith lied so
that Willow wouldn't know how much she cared about her, "I've been here only
a few hours and already it's way better." I need to think of something as a
back up in case she doesn't buy that, come on Faith think…

"Oh ok," Willow knew there was more but didn't want to push. Faith had
spoken very little about her family and home, but from the little pieces
Willow had picked up it was not a happy place or time for Faith. She wasn't
going to bring it up unless Faith offered her information. I don't know why
I want her to open up to me so much; it's her own business I really have no
place asking about her home life.

She knows I'm not telling the truth, so why isn't she asking? Hmm, this
chick is a strange one; maybe she doesn't think it's her place. Faith
continued pondering until she felt a familiar shudder run down her spine.
Oh great, a vampire, I wonder how long that's been following us, I haven't
really been paying attention to our surroundings. "Red, is that the
Bronze?" Faith asks as she points to the large dark building with BRONZE
painted on the front.

"Yep, come on, I can't wait for Xander to go all non-verbal when he sees
you," Willow tugged on Faith's hand and started to walk quickly to the door.
Xan is gonna love Faith, she's so hot, I just wish I knew if she felt
anything for me, it doesn't matter that we're both girls any more. I know
she's called me beautiful, but I still don't know if that's in a "this is my
beautiful best friend" sort of way or a "oh yeah let's do it sort of way".
Willow felt a deep blush rise in her skin as her thoughts took a decidedly
more erotic road.

I wonder what she's blushing about. Wait, that doesn't matter, vampire
first questions later. "Hold up Red, I need to do something before I go in,
why don't you go ahead of me and I'll catch up in a few?" Please don't
argue this, I don't want you to get hurt. Faith hoped her eyes conveyed
that she wanted to be alone for a few but not that she didn't want to have
the redhead around.

I hope everything is ok, she hasn't mentioned wanting to be alone all
afternoon, why now? With a slightly confused look on her face Willow
decided to give Faith what she needed and didn't push, "sure, I'll see if
Buffy and the gang is here, if they aren't I'll just get us a table, ok?"
Please say yes, I don't want you to go yet.

"Sounds like a plan, I should be in, in a few," Faith watched as Willow
entered the Bronze before turning on her heal and shouting into the
darkness. "All right creep get out here so I can dust you go home happy,
knowing there is one less blood sucking fiend on the streets." Come on, I
have a cute redhead waiting and I don't want to be away long.

"Oh I don't think you'll be the one going home tonight," the vampire stepped
out of the shadows with a slight smirk on his face. "Now be a good little
girl, and die," his face contorted into high ridges and a frown as his teeth
visibly grew longer.

"You see, now that was witty, really, but you see, I have a girl waiting,"
Faith does a spinning sidekick into the vampire sending him to the ground.
He jumped to his feet and attempted a flying crescent kick, but Faith
grabbed his foot mid air. She hit him with a right palm strike to the solar
plexus and released his leg so he flew across the alley and landed in a pile
of wood breaking a few pieces off. Faith picked up one of the broken pieces
and tried to stake the weakened vampire, but he was up and charging at her
ramming her into the wall and causing Faith to drop her stake. With the
wind knocked out of her Faith slowly stood and delivered a left hook to the
vampire's head. He stumbled back but grabbed Faith as he fell bringing her
with him. He connected a few times with Faith's face drawing a small amount
of blood before she got a handle on his collar and beat the vampire's face
to a pulp. Faith then grabbed another piece of wood from the pile and
staked him. "Good riddance, that took longer then I was hoping," Hope
Willow isn't getting too anxious.

Faith went to stand up and realized she couldn't stand all the way. Oh
shit, he must have broken a rib when he slammed me into that wall. Just
great, how am I going to explain this to Willow? Faith reached up and
touched her just as Willow came bounding out of the Bronze.

"Hey Faith the gang is here and… what happened to you?" Willow was very
concerned, it looked like Faith had been in a fight, her face was bloody and
she wasn't stand up straight. "Faith are you ok? Do you need me to call an
ambulance?" Her first night in town and she's jumped by someone… or
something, I hope it wasn't a vampire, that would be even better she's
attacked by something supernatural on the day that she meets me, she'll
never want to speak to me again, let alone be near me.

"No, no, an ambulance isn't necessary but I really don't feel like clubbing
tonight, you think we could skip it?" Faith hoped Willow wouldn't be too
disappointed by her request, but she really wasn't up for dancing tonight.
"We could come back tomorrow." Say yes Willow, say yes.

"Sure, would you like me to walk you back to… where are you staying while
you're in town?" I can't believe we were talking all afternoon and I never
asked where she was staying, she did say she was in town because she had
some business to take care of, but what kind of business does a teenager
have to do? Don't start jumping to conclusions now Willow, just see if
she's ok.

"I'm staying at one of those run down motels near the bus station, all the
way across town, you don't have to walk me I'll be fine." If she comes with
me and we're jumped I won't be able to defend her or myself in this
condition; it would be better if I was alone. Faith started to hobble in
the direction of the bus station.

"Wait up, I'm coming with you, because you're not going to some fleebag
motel. We have a spare bedroom at my house and my parents are always out of
town, you're going to stay with me, at least until you can walk without
looking like the Hunchback of Notre Dame. Now, do you have anything else
that you left at the bus station or is it just this backpack?" Willow
indicated Faith's black backpack packed full with stakes, holy water,
crosses, a small knife and a short sword. There was also a single change of
clothes, but that was it.

"Yeah, that's all I came with, you really don't have to do this, the motel
isn't far, I could just call you when I get there if you're going to worry,"
Faith continued to walk, but Willow easily kept up with her.

"You're coming how with me and that's final, now give me that," Willow took
Faith's bag swung it over her shoulder and wrapped her arm around Faith and
started to lead her back to her house. Don't fight me on this Faith, I just
want to make sure you're safe and well, any friend would, let me take care
of you.

As they were walking towards Willow's home Faith was wondering why she
hadn't put up more of a fight. It's not like me to just blindly follow
someone to their home, that's a sex thing, and then it's always my place,
somewhere familiar, what do I do in this situation? Why is this girl being
so nice to me, is she going to expect something in return? Willow doesn't
seem like the love 'em and leave 'em type. She actually acts like a
complete virgin, so it shouldn't be sex that she wants. Think Faith, what
could she want from you? Faith's mind was going a mile a minute trying to
figure out what was off about Red, but she couldn't think of a thing.

Meanwhile Willow was having similarly panicked thoughts, why did I do this?
I invited a total stranger to stay at my house in a town full of vampires,
smart move Willow. Well, Faith isn't a complete stranger we've spent over
half the day talking, wait we bumped into each other about halfway through
the day; she can't be a vampire. Well that solves my "inviting her in"
problem, but I still don't even know if she's just a regular psycho out to
get her next victim. Geez Willow you're always so down to earth, what's
this girl doing to make you act so irresponsibly?
