Chapter Four: New Dawn

 

Six months later…

The sun was rising, casting its rays through the window of Buffy’s bedroom, groaning she stretched and rolled out of the light and threw her arm over Willow who was sleeping next to her.

            “Hmm…” Willow murmured. “Time to get up,” she muttered.

            “I don’t wanna,” Buffy groaned.

“Well you are still Slayer X and I’m still Doctor Willow Rosenberg, so we’ll have to get to work,” Willow stated. “Also…”

            “Morning!” Faith squealed as she lunged into their bed with a grin.

            “Aren’t you a bit too old for this?” Buffy asked as Faith crawled up under the covers.

            “Nope,” Faith exclaimed. “Also you are not naked,” she said.

            “Yeah we learned that early on,” Willow said with a frown.

            “We are a family now aren’t we?” Faith asked.

            “Yes a strange, dysfunctional three women family,” Buffy said with a grin.

            “Oh momma X,” Faith said with grin. “We are a family now,” she nodded.

            “We have to be at work soon,” Willow said and stretched lazily.

            “Aww… I don’t wanna,” Buffy murmured and burrowed under the sheets.

            “Well we have to,” Willow said and pulled the covers of Buffy and Faith and kicked them onto the floor with a gentle nudge of her mind.

 

The SUV pulled into the Watcher Corps newly renovated subsection of the Watcher Corps building. First Willow stepped out in her business suit, and then came Faith in her school uniform, very formal and British. Finally Buffy stepped out of the passenger side, wearing her leathers.

            "What?” she asked when Faith and Willow gave her the look. “I’m still an active slayer slash housewife,” she said with a grin.

            “Whatever,” Faith muttered as they entered the elevator.

            “You know this could be the start of something very strange,” Angel said to Cordelia from where they watched the trio on the map room wall.

            “Or something truly great,” Cordelia said with a smirk as she placed her arm around Angel’s waist. “Where did you send Spike and Nighthawk?” she asked.

            “Oh you’ll love this,” he said with a grin and handed her a copy ofthe orders he’d sent to the odd couple of the Corps.

            “Oh you are evil,” Cordelia said with a grin as she placed the letter on the desk. It read: William Wilde and Alexander Harris are now placed on a roving agent status. They are to report to London HQ within ten days together to receive their joint orders.
