I dont agree entirely with you on this. Okay, there are 800 people
(Hell I didn't even know the Gutter was that filled now!) but for me at least.
If i read 5 fics a week, it's a bloody miracle. Because for me between work,
taking care of Matt, trying to plot w/Kerry on our fic it's hard as hell
to find time to give feedback to all the new & returning fic authors.
Before Outlook died me I had over 3000 pieces of mail for fanfic alone just
from the SS, BLW & BWW lists.
While I do agree with you about the regular feedbackers for the most
part. For me I know I'm usually counting every minute waiting for the first
feedback to arrive. (No Sammy, not including you. You're our cheerleading
squad. <grin>) Granted there are 800 on this list alone, but as much
as I'd like to hear from 799 of them, but thats not reality. Reality is only
some people will even 'read' you story much less reply to it. People will
judge a new story sometimes based on the title or if they've heard of this
person who's writing it. So what makes it worthwhile (for me at least) is
when you get the lurkers to pop out and say "Hey, I liked your story/poem/snippet"
or what have you and when an author or authors that you really respect says
"Good job, nice story or something."
Maybe I'm wrong, but that's my 2 dinars.
I gotta agree with this. And I'll be screwed but he's right.
There are 800 hundred people on the list.
EIGHT SMEGGING HUNDRED?
How many are regular feedbackers?
I think..with a little optimistic counting..ten.
Occasionally a lurker pops up..but..COME ON PEOPLE.
This is something I seem happening. So..any comments? Suggestions?
