Okay. I'm going to assume that you don't care about
spoilers if you're still reading this. So, in no
particular order, here are my thoughts on the season
premiere of Buffy.
Willow: scared the hell out of me at one point, to be
quite honest. I honestly didn't see that scene with
her killing the deer coming until she knifed it.
Alyson Hannigan did a great job this episode (as if
she ever hasn't done a good job... why, yes, she is my
favourite person on the show, why do you ask?). I
just hope that the rumors of her being the big bad for
the season are false (more on this later).
Tara: Amber Benson also did a good job this ep. I
like some of the goofiness that Tara is starting to
exhibit. That, and seeing her bury an axe in a
demon's back was just plain cool :)
Xander: To be quite honest, I can't say I was
impressed with Nicholas Brendon's acting in this
episode. At the point when he realizes that they left
Buffy to dig her way out of her own grave, he sounds
as if he's about to pop a joke. Other than that,
however, the standard Xander goofiness was a
comforting presence in an angst-filled episode.
Anya: Was Anya. 'Nuff said :)
Spike and Dawn: Michelle (forgive me for not knowing
how to spell her last name) did probably her best
acting on the show to date... well, since the Body,
anyways (the best ep of season 5, IMHO). Spike, as
always, was a badass, and that's what makes him one of
my favourite charachters. But I still hope that the
rumours of him and Buffy together are completlet false
(I'm hoping for some Buffy/Willow action this season,
just like most people on these lists).
Giles: Great goodbye scene. Some great acting from
Anthony Stewart Head this time out. I'm honestly
sorry to see him go.
Buffy/Buffybot: SMG, while not in top form in this ep,
did a great job anyways as the Buffybot and as a girl
that had to dig herself out of her own grave. The
only way I can think to describe the way the Buffybot
acted is "Valley girl on steroids". As for when she
was Buffy, it was kinda strange to not hear her making
puns when she beat the crap out of the demon biker
gang, but since Buffy had just crawled out of her
grave a little while before, that's understandable.
Preview for next ep: Of course, we can't have Buffy
come back without some kind of evil coming back with
her. For those of you that may have missed it, they
said that some kind of evil force will go around
possessing members of the Scooby gang. Even
considering the way Willow acted in the premiere, I
think that this is the only way that they could
possibly make her the big bad for season 6.
Well, I guess that's it. If you feel like it, let me
know what you think, and if you don't, well, thanks
for reading this far (if you did, that is). See y'all
later!
