Preview: The Twilight War

Yes it is I risen from the hell that is real life, I've been working on bits and pieces of this story for some time now, but soon I should find the time to complete it. Just giving you true believers a little taste of what is to come and what my brain has been cooking up for you all.

Best wishes.

Preview of The Twilight War...

There are no words to describe what happened at the Second Battle of Necris. How does one put into words the brutal battle that raged for six days outside the entrance to the Nether? How does one explain the supreme sacrifices made by men and women fighting for their home and their way of life? Carefully, very carefully, there are many stories to be told like in any war there are angles and views thatmay differ. But I will try my best to put what happened over the course of those days into words.

-Fromthe Writings of Lady Cordelia Moondancer Vol. III

The Nether was a fortified with haste, ditches were dug and walls erected from wood harvested from the surrounding forest. From a equally hastily erected command post Buffy directed her army, the dwarves were hard at work narrowing the entrance and erectinglow stone wall inside the tunnels in case they had to retreated into the Nether, it was one of the things they had going for them, if they had to retreat they would be able to retreat all they way back to the halls of Clan Thunderfoot, the Nether was vast and they would be able to hold out for a long time. The idea of siege warfare didn?t have much appeal to Buffy, laying a siege took time and resources and being besieged also took time and resources. She wanted a set piece battle, two opposing forces and a fight until the one either won or fled. She?s learned the hard lessons of Necris ten years earlier, fighting in tight streets and rumble of buildings was no way to fight a war. It had too many places for a sharp eyed bowman to hide in and fighting from house to house was time consuming. Time they didn?t have.

She knew well that this attack on Necris was designed as physiological attack on the Alliance, the birthplaceof the Alliance and all that, but this was not the real battle, the real battle would be fought on the planes of Larken there the fate of the continent would be decided. So the Protector of Necris readied herself once again to be a pawnin the game of the gods. Like mother, like daughter. Sighing she girded her sword, the Royal Sword of the First House, she?d discovered that while buried inthe archives, it according to legend gave her a claim to the throne of Necris...
