Zephyr,

I continue to enjoy this fic immensely. When you consider that all that
happened was B/W waking up and checking out of a motel, it's really a
tribute to your abilities that you conveyed such mystery, romantic
atmosphere, angst, and WAFFys. The Milky Way itself affected?
Impressively spooky, yet somehow quite poetic.
Wow, compliments. Basking here, just basking ;^P Thanks for the feedback.

Oh and my inner nitpicker sends a note that Willow, being American,
really shouldn't be thinking in metric and it distracted him from how
much he was enjoying the fic, but he's always on about stuff like
thatjust humor him.
Well, *I'm* American, as your inner nitpicker should have deduced from
my use of "pajamas" rather than "pyjamas." Of course, I had to look in a
dictionary to figure out which one's used on which side of the pond... make
of that what you will.
Anyway, I just figured that Willow, being a science geek, would probably
think in metric at least some of the time. She's great at chemistry, for
one thing, and that's all metric. And then there's the computer... like
that time in I Only Have Eyes For You (recently re-aired on FX, which is
why I mention it) when she pulls up the news article on the student/teacher
fling in about two seconds flat.
Forget the scene where she stuck her witchy fingers into the keyboard. I
think she's been using magic on the computer for *the whole series*.
On the other hand, I just grepped (grept? grep'd?) through Psyche's
transcripts... I can find places where Willow referred to inches
(Harmony's 10-inch ceramic unicorn imported from Thailand in Real Me) and
feet (an early warning spell that detects anything hellgodishly powerful
within 100 feet of the magic shop, in Blood Ties.) The only references to
meters I can find are from the Initiative, and once from Spike when he
tells Buffy where Harmony is probably holing up, also in Real Me.
I guess that was a really long and convoluted way of saying that you're
probably right ;)

Zephyr

For though I bring warm remembrance of spring twilight,
There follows close behind me a messenger, cold-lipped crier,
Bringer of tales carried by frozen wings to friendly fires.
See how the sky is darkest before the dawn breaks night,
And mildest before the snapping of winter's frosty bite.
