Challenge; Changing History

Hey pals and gals!

Hoping to spark some new fanfics from our many bards both old and new, I hereby lay down the gauntlet of challenge.  The theme is;

CHANGING HISTORY

The setting; late season six or later.  Willow is slowly recovering from her magic dependency, while Buffy has finally shaken her fixation on Spike. But both are still dealing with the emotional scars of the last year.  Tara has moved on, and is now happily involved with another woman.  Xander and Anya's status is up to you.

The story must involve either Buffy or Willow finding herself back in the recent past(circa season 5 or early season 6) by the Powers That Be, and given the opportunity to change their own past.  However, their efforts to change things end up having reprecussions that neither could foresee.

If you choose Will, her mission must involve one of the three events;
1) Willow can try to stop herself from performing the ressurection spell in 'Bargaining, thereby allowing Buffy the peace of Heaven.
2) She can stop herself from casting the memory spell on Tara in 'All the Way', or
3) She can stop herself from falling into Rack's clutches, and accepting that she needs help dealing with her magic dependency.

If you choose Buffy, her mission must involve one of the following;
1) Buffy can confront Glory before she brain-sucks Tara in 'Tough Love'
2) She can stop Doc from shedding Dawn's blood in 'The Gift', or
3) She can confront herself before she throws herself at Spike in 'Smashed'(this story assumes that Buffy's increasingly self-destructive fling with Spike will have tragic consequences for all involved).

At the end of the story, you may allow time to flow back to normal, or you may allow the altered history to lead to a happier resolution, or make things worse.  Some sort of resolution is required, and a logical progression from recent events on the show(if you have Willow try and stop the resurrection spell, for example, keep the biker demons who overran Sunnydale in mind), and preferably some B/W interaction of some sort.  That is the list, after all!

This is my challenge.  Who will take it up?

"Once, years ago, I saved the life of a wise old priest.
Grateful, he made a gift to me of these few precious words:
If you find yourself on a cliffside, trapped,
with a hungry tiger waiting above
and a hungry tiger waiting below,
and by chance you spy a single strawberry
growing from the cliffside...
pluck the strawberry...
and bite into it...
and taste it."
