Insta-reveiw of Entropy (SPOILERS)

Sorry I havn't been around much (read at all) to give
feedback for all the wonderful stories that have been
coming through these parts. After finals I'll be
back, promise.

But for now, another as-it-happens review (which I
guess would just be a "view" then?) of April 30th's
episode, "Entropy." (I think that's the title.)

Spoilers for the ep and the preview of next week's.

TEASER

Standard vamp chase scene, oh boy! Perhaps this is a
herald of a return to the good old days. Oh, wait.
It's the nerd squad, riding weird little dirt buggies
through the cemetery... with big stakes strapped
across the handlebars. Looks like fun.

Oh, give me a break. Crashing into a tombstone with a
go cart will not shatter the tombstone into crumbly
bits.

And here now is our lovely heroine, Buffy the Vampire
Slayer, with her faithful companion... Spike? She's
fighting a vamp, he's holding a vamp... and he'll
stake it if she'll agree to tell her friends about
them. Right.

Buffy's cool, though. She's actually cool. This is a
good thing. Aww, is Spike *crying*? I thought
vampires had blood tears.

Poor Xander. Ooh, Anya! That color pink looks
atrocious.

ACT ONE

Willow's walking through the hallway, where she
meets... aw, shucks. Four letter name, not Buffy, has
known Willow for a while now. They're making sweet
talk, I'm going nah nah nah I can't hear you.

Dawn stole a toothbrush. Cute.

The geeks have a Plan. It's going to get them
everything they ever wanted. Tropical islands and
all. Yeah, right.

Jonathan is, as expected, less than enthusiastic about
the trio's activities. The others suspect he's going
to turn on them, because he has that look on his face
he got after Andrew highlighted one of his Bab 5
novels. Oooh, scary.

Anya is "ducky." You?

This is doomed. This is doomed. Xander's doing the
whole "I still love you" thing, but this is doomed.
'Cause Anya's a...

Oh, frell.

ACT TWO

Anya's wishes aren't working... perhaps a vengeance
demon can't make her own wishes? Anyway, it's a good
thing that Xander is still around and not horribly
boiling.

More of Halfrek, who is still on the whole
child-defender schtick.

I was right; vengeance demons can't wish on their own
behalves. But she could get someone to wish for her.

Buffy worries she's becoming the embarrassing mom who
tries too hard. Cute. Dawn wants to come on
patrol... and Buffy's actually having a rational
discussion about it instead of freaking. This is
cool.

Nah nah nah, I can't hear you W/T people.

Willow confirms the connotations of penis-monster.
Increment number of times "gay" is said on show by 1.
(just remembering a thread about that a while back on
these lists...) And man is Anya going on a complete
lesbians-should-hate-men-and-wish-they-were-tortured
tangent.

Oh, that is so Anya.

WAIT A SECOND. Anya doesn't have a necklace. She's
not giving anyone a necklace. Punks.

Secret camera, not so secret anymore. Xander thinks
it's Spike's fault. Nobody even thinks of the techno
wizards.

Spike is going all nicey nice. What the hell. If
he's somehow gained a soul without anybody knowing,
this might be justified in a freaky 6th season Buffy
way, but if he's still a soulless vampire what's the
point of Angel again? Buffy's still refusing him, but
not in a neurotic way anymore. This is cool.

Oh, ok. Anya *does* have a necklace. It's under her
shirt, but I can see the chain barely. But she's
still not giving it to people.

Spike. Anya. Imagine the possibilities.

ACT THREE

"If I could get someone to wish Spike was a woman..."

Fortunately (??) Halfrek convinces Anyanka that men
need vengeance sometimes too.

Looks like Anya knows how to get Spike... drunk.

<singing> They're looking at the tape, they're looking
at the tape!

Oh, no... is Spike going to wish something bad about
Buffy? That would be bad, that would be bad, that
would be bad.

Or even better... oh... my... hmm, not yet. Darn.

More Anya/Spike parallels. I'm flashing back to
season 4 (??) and the couch scene.

I wonder if Anya and Spike are going to hook up. That
would be... interesting.

Oh. My. God.

That's what's going to *happen*.

And Willow is homing in on the secret camera watching
the two of them...

This is extremely disturbing, in a rather amusing way.

Undressing, check. Table, check.

I'd just like to take this opportunity to say that,
while there have been rough times, and depressing
times, and some downright dragging-on in a slow
dejected way times... this is the kind of funny Buffy
ought to be.

And the march to kill Spike is on.

ACT FOUR

Dawn and Buffy in the yard; Dawn knows about the BS.
Boy, Dawn is actually acting decent and not at all
bratty. Who wrote this episode? Kudos.

Spike takes his leave from Anyanka, giving her a ...
courteous and curt nod? Heh.

Xander after Spike, Anya stopping him, Buffy running
in. It was just a thing.

"You had to do it. Because he was there. Like Mount
Everest." Heh.

Didn't somebody say that Xander and Anya had the best
chances of anybody? Ummmmm...

Oh, this is bloody priceless. Now Buffy is outed to
Xander and Anya as well.

Tara's moping around Willow's room... It's going to
take time, etc. etc. She seems to be... oh bloody
crikey hellish bloody flaming hell.

And that's it for this week's installment of Buffy the
Vampire Slayer. Tune in next week, when *everything*
goes to hell, going by the previews.

Cool.

Now, what does it all mean? I saw a few things:

* Willow's eyes were black. Not at all unexpected.

* It's going to be the "biggest event ever" in
Sunnydale. Right.

* There was an ambulance being overturned.

* Somebody was pounding on the ground and making
energy shockwaves... it was probably Willow but I
could swear it looked like Buffy.

* Everything we've heard was wrong.

Sounds like fun.

Yours in Wuffydom, I remain,

Jason Rune
