FIC: My Statements pt8

My Statements pt.8 or Book two pt. 1?

DISCLAIMERS: None of the characters are mine, blah blah. Joss shouldn't own them, but does. Errr, moving on&.

A/N: This is the second part of My Statements. I have no idea for a title for this section, if any of you do let me know! J There's probably (I'm estimating here.. about maybe one book/section after this) so&. NOTE: I have played around with the POV, it shifts, but hopefully it is all good, and not to confusing. There were some parts of the story that I thought had to be told in first person POV. So I hope you all enjoy it J

Pt. 8 or 1 (whichever)

I look back to the kitchen; Willow is watching Tara walk out of the house. "Is everything okay?" Willow turns and tries to smile at me.

"Yeah. She, she's I don't know. She said goodbye, and then left."
"Bye? Bye like goodnight? Or&"

[Say `bye' like good night! I can't stand to see you in any more pain. ]

"She meant goodbye, Buffy." Willow is drumming her hands on the counter. I cross the room, avoiding the table to hold her. [No more pain, not for Willow.] But I knew that there would be no mercy. Not for Willow, not for any of us Scooby's.]

"It'll be okay Will. She'll come back. She loves you."

Surprisingly Willow chuckles and I can't help but wonder if she got hit in the head at some point tonight.

"Yeah. Let's go to bed. I need some sleep."

I break away from her, taking her hand.

[Where are the tears? Why isn't she& It doesn't matter, I'll be here for her this time.]
****************************************

"Wakey wakey sleepyhead!"
Dawn rolled away from the cheerful voice.

"Dawwwwwwn! It's time to get up." Janice climbed into the bed, slightly worried about wrinkling her clothes, and rested next to Dawn's form.

"Wake up baby." The sunlight cast a glow around Dawn that made the girl a vision to behold. Janice leaned the few scant inches and kissed Dawn's cheek.

"Huh?"

Janice giggled at Dawn's confused expression. [Oh! How can anyone be that cute after just waking up? Me, I have to get up at least an hour early to look that good.]

"It's time for breakfast. Then we're to head off for the torturous institution of learning."

Dawn groaned at the reminder, pulling the covers around her tighter.

"Uh-uh Dawnie. There's no escape from the evil learning system." Janice grabbed the covers and threw then to the bottom of the bed. Dawn's miniature football jersey and shorts set stealing Janice's breath.

[Okay I don't remember those being so&.hot last night.]

"Since when did you become `Miss. Scholastic'?" Dawn rubbed her hands over her eyes trying to block out some of the sun that was streaming in through the window.

"I'm not! I am so not `Go school-ish!' I'm more "Please let it snow!!' Unfortunately for us we live in southern California. Plus I just want to get our weekend together started."

[I can't believe Buffy actually agreed to let Dawn spend Thursday, Friday, and the weekend with me! Buffy must be like the best sister ever!]

"That is so cute! That's why we are the best couple ever!" Dawn giggled as Janice blushed. "So there's no chance I slept threw Friday and it's now Saturday?"

"I'm sorry baby, but the answer is no."
Dawn frowned, then pouted.

"My poor Dawn all," Janice wrapped her arms around her girlfriend. "Saddened by having to go to school. You want some pancakes?"

With those words Dawn brightened, her face lighting up. "Turn down that smile, or I might be blinded." Janice was so happy with herself for pleasing Dawn, that she missed Dawn leaning over and kissing her on the cheek.

"You're the best girlfriend ever!"

Dawn hopped out of bed, scrambling around for her school clothes. The youngest Summers ran for the bathroom, leaving Janice alone. In bed. Still.

"Wow."

A goofy grin broke out on the sixteen year olds face. Dawn popped her head back into the room.

"Do you know how to do funny shapes?"
*******************************************

"Arms please."

Buffy eyes silently searched the room for the voice that had awakened her, but saw nothing.

"Baby, hold me."

[Willow]

The redhead shifted, scooted closer to Buffy.

[She must think that I'm- whatever.]

Buffy closed her arms around Willow, a gentle sigh escaping from her trembling lips. [I can do this. Just don't think about her arm touching my breast. Or about her luscious lips mumbling about fogs in my ear.]

Buffy slowly started to relax, that is until Willow shifted.

[Oh! This is SO not fair! Her knee is SO not between my legs!]

The blonde's strangled whimper roused Willow from her dormant slumber.

"Hey Buff."

"W-Will."

[I am such a dog. Here's my Willow having woke up after the worst night possibly ever, and all I can think about is how her leg needs to move up just a little bit further. Possibly be replaced with her fingers. Stroking me, lifting me&]

"You all right? You're flushed." Willow lifted her hand to check Buffy's forehead, and in doing so noticed the appendages comfy resting place.
"Sorry. I, uh, snuggle."

"It's okay Will. Not like I'm imagining you curled up into me every night for the rest of our lives." Buffy smiled reassuringly at Willow, but it fell flat when the blonde looked into Willow's eyes.

[So deep. Like twin emerald oceans.] "I'm certainly not thinking about your leg." Buffy brushed her fingertips over said leg. "Or your lips."

Willow lifted her hand from the blonde's forehead, gently caressing the skin beneath her fingers until she was cupping Buffy's face. "You're beautiful." Willow clapped her hand over her mouth, quickly trying to think of a way to take back what she said before she started to babble. " I mean not hot! You don't have a fever! I think that I should leave." Willow quickly extracted herself from her slayer type comforter, and made a dash for the door.

"I have class. I need to get ready for it." But the redhead stopped and looked back at the blonde lying in the tussled up sheets. The slayer's creamy skin set off by the duvets dark midnight blue. The confused eyes that begged for resolution highlighted by the morning light.

"Class."
[Will, you can't leave me like this!]

"I love it. Can't miss& classes." Willow pulled the door open, closing it as soon as she was through the doorway.

"Aggh!" Buffy threw her pillow at the door, flopping back into the comfort of the bed. "What a way to start the day.
**********************************************

"It wasn't that bad!"

Dawn rolled her eyes at the lame attempt to cheer her up.

"Janice, which class room where you in? They were all staring at us!" Dawn entered her combination, but the locker refused to open for the brown haired youngster. "Why where they staring? That is so rude! And why won't this stupid locker open!"

Dawn banged her head against the locker, almost instantly yelping at the contact.

"Ow! Ow! Ow! Ow!"

Janice glanced around the corridor to check if anyone was watching them. No one was.

"Baby, it's okay. They weren't thinking anything bad." Janice rested her hand on Dawn's shoulder, offering her support. "Sweetie,"

Dawn shrugged off Janice's hand, searching the halls to see if anyone had seen the display. "Why did you do that?" Janice placed her hand on the strap of her school bag, shifting from one foot to the other.

Dawn turned back to Janice, and saw the hurt flashing in brown eyes that were usually lit with a soul deep smile.

"I-"

"Never mind. Guess I know why!" Janice spun the combination wheel, then hit Dawn's locker. The paint chipped locker door swung open. "Hope you're happy."

"Janice!"
But the words were lost it the bustling hallway.

Pt.9 or 2
DISCLAIMER: The w/t relationship is mentioned in this part (a flash back about a time when the two were together) So if ya don't like it and don't read this part you'll miss the buffy'n'willowness, but hey that's your choice.

[I am such a loser, no wonder no one likes me.]

Dawn tapped her pencil on her Biology book. Her thoughts centered completely on her first fight with Janice earlier.

[How can I ever get her to forgive me? Or for that matter understand me.]

Dawn knew that some people thought she was a self-centered brat, but she really wasn't. Sometimes it was easier to act that way though, and Dawn would freely admit that she had reacted that way more than once to get out of trouble. Usually it didn't matter because no one paid her attention anyway. Just Janice and the Scoobyies. And now&

[I know it shouldn't matter about Janice or I, but I don't want the attention we receive to be negative. I feel like such a coward!]

Dawn had supported Willow and Tara unconditionally. Hell she had even pushed them together a few times! They had made the perfect couple in Dawn's eyes, loving carefree, sweet. That is until Janice and her hooked up. But they hadn't always been carefree, part of the reason Dawn had always been so supportive.

[All those times someone called Tara a `dyke' or Willow a `lesbo', the pain that filled their eyes. Is it so wrong to want to protect Janice and me from the hate??]

A memory hit Dawn. She had been coming back form the movies to find Willow comforting crying Tara.

"What is happened? Is it a demon? Should I get-" "No Dawn. It's, it's stupid." Willow looked back at Tara; the blonde wiped at her eyes, but clung to Willow tightly with her free hand.

"It's not so stupid if Tara is crying." With her hands on her hips Dawn gave Willow a look. "Tell me."

"If you're sure you really want to know, well tell you." Dawn started to shake her head to tell Tara yes, but the Wicca interrupted.

"It's a grown up matter. You need to behave like one when we tell you."

"Okay!" Dawn ran towards the couch, sitting on the floor before Willow and Tara. "Tara-baby are you sure? Dawnie's awfully y-" Willow got a glance of the frown forming on Dawn's mouth. "Innocent."

"I'm sure." Tara took Willow's hand and laced their fingers together.

"Don't keep me in suspense!" Both of the women smiled at her remark. And Dawn was gland that she erased a tiny bit of the pain she had seen earlier.

"There were some not so nice people that shared their not so nice opinions with us." Tara swiped at her eyes again. "S-some people c- called us ab-abnormal and&" Tara started crying again, unable and unwilling to repeat what had happened next.

"It's okay now baby. They're not going to bother us again." Willow pulled Tara up from her spot on the couch. "Why don't you go and rest upstairs. Meditate, maybe? I'll be up as soon as Dawnie is settled in."

The wicca left, and Willow returned to her place on the couch.

"They called us very wrong names, and then one of the guys grabbed Tara. He tried to kiss her& and I pushed him away from her with magick." Tears clouded Willow's vision. "Luckily they got scared because of the magick and ran off. But Tara&." Willow's voice dropped off and sobs came forth instead. Dawn rose from her position on the ground and hugged the sobbing redhead.

[I don't want to have to hold Janice as she cries to sleep. Or worse have her have to go home and I can't be there for her!] The bell rang and Dawn tossed her unopened textbook into her bag. [I hope she forgives me! We both have lunch now, so now is the best time to get this resolved.]

Dawn left the classroom, off to patch things up with her girlfriend.
******************************************

Willow scurried into the classroom just as the professor closed the door.

"Cutting it close aren't you Miss. Rosenberg?" Willow dumbly nodded and went to sit into the first seat available. Up at the front of the room. Which was usually where Willow sat anyway, but to say she was less than focused on her classes than normal.

[I'll never be able to concentrate on the lecture today! Not after what happened this morning in Buffy's room!]

Willow mentally high-fived herself for her meticulous study habits as the professor started his lecture on the chapter she had read two weeks ago.

[At least now I can worry in peace without having to worry about not paying attention in class today!]

Willow retrieved a pen and a notebook from her bag, placing them so it would appear that she was taking notes.

[I can't believe that I told Buffy she was beautiful! She must have been so freaked out!]

Willow could clearly see in her head how the blonde had been confused when Willow was running from the room. [Hell, I was practically flying out of that room! At least until I had to turn back and look at her. For all I know that could be the last time I see Buffy. Oh, that's stupid Rosenberg! I cannot believe that I just left her like that. I should be there with her right now! But no! I had to go to class.]

Willow sighed, oblivious to the other students.

[And what was that? That whole `I love it'? I'll be lucky if Buffy doesn't promptly throw me out of the house when I show up tonight. Like she's not going to know I was talking about her!]
Willow jumped when the professor shouted her name.

"Yes?" The disgruntled educator strode the short distance to Willow and leaned in closely.

"Are you with us today with Miss. Rosenberg? Because it doesn't seem like it. Barely making it to class on time, no concentration, usually you are the most attentive."

Willow gulped at her professor's words, all eyes in the room trained on the scene before them, but the man continued on not pausing for a response.

"It doesn't seem that you are grounded enough today to join us in this endeavor of learning, so if you would kindly leave those interested could get back to learning."

Willow blindly gathered up her belongings, her mouth set in a firm line.

[I can't believe this! He- he can't throw me out of class! Not me! Willow Rosenberg! I've never been thrown out of class! How dare her! Just because I wasn't paying attention, or taking notes, he thinks her can tell mer to leave!]

Willow stormed down the hall, heading back to the Summers' house.

[He has another thing coming to him when I coming back! Imagine the nerve, throwing me out of class! All those times I didn't point out when he was wrong. Well! He can just forget about me being nice and not correcting him the next time he gives the wrong info to the class!]

Dawn rushed through the hallways, desperate to get to the lunch table where she and Janice ate lunch. Dawn skimmed through the lunch line, grabbing whatever she could, before heading to their table. No Janice.

"Great. She's not going to come and then I can't apologize for being so&." Dawn dejectedly sat down, and for the first time noticed what she had picked up in her rush.

"Ewww. Mystery meat sandwich!"

A tray was set down across from Dawn.

"Look like you also picked up yesterday's old orange Jell-O."

"Janice!" Dawn practically fainted.

"Hey. Is it okay if I sit down?" Dawn nodded, and the brunette sat down opposite Dawn. A silent stretched between the two until Dawn looked back at her lunch.

"What makes you say this was yesterday's Jell-O? It's brown! There's no way that the Jell-O could have turned bad so fast? Does Jell-O go bad?"

Janice smiled despite their argument.

"There is no brown Jell-O Dawn. The only one that could be considered brown is chocolate." The older girl looked at the Jell-
O. "And that's not chocolate."

"Oh double ewww!!! I don't even want to think of all the times-"

The girls burst out laughing. Dawn quieted down first.

"I'm sorry for earlier. I shouldn't have been so&. I just don't want us to get hurt."

"I'm sorry to Dawn, I should never have reacted that way, it's just wanted to show you that I would be there for you."

Janice reached across the table and held Dawn's hand.

"I know. I want that too, Janice. It's just that there is bound to be hate, and I wanted it to happen when our relationship still wasn't so new." Dawn stood up. "Let's go to my house where we can talk about this a bit more privately. Maybe we'll eve get some decent food!"

"Only if I ban you from the kitchen." Janice still had nightmares about the last time Dawn had tried to feed her one of her concoctions. *************************************

Buffy stumbled into the kitchen, cursing the dumb cable cord.

[Just need some food.]

Buffy headed for the cabinets, grabbing a random box of cereal. Her next stop was the fridge where she got some milk and a yogurt. [Probably wasn't in my best interest to feel up my best friend's leg, but she didn't have to tell me I was beautiful and then run!]

The slayer retrieved a bowl and poured the cereal, then returned everything to the correct spot on automatic as her head tried to sort through the emotionally charged awakening. "At least there is one good thing about having the house to myself." Buffy headed for the living room where she sat down on the couch. "I get the remote!!" Buffy turned the television on and started to eat her breakfast.
[What is on at noon anyway?]

Buffy flipped through the channels, finishing of her food.

[I need to go get some more- hey is that?]

Buffy paused her flipping, and watched the screen.

"Yes! `All My Children' is on!!!!" Buffy quieted down to listen. She had used to watch the show with her mother. "So what do you want for lunch?" Dawn stepped into the living room, passing by Buffy without even seeing her.

"Doesn't matter. I think we should keep talking about what happened earlier."

"K." Dawn went about fixing some sandwiches. "I have seen a lot of pain caused by people's intolerance and I don't want us to get hurt over their stupidity."

[I don't think I should be hearing this.]

Buffy coughed loudly, drawing the attention of the two girls in the other room.

"Janice did you hear something?" The other girl shook her head `yes'. "Stay behind me!" Dawn searched for a weapon.
"You're going to protect me with a spatula?"

"Shhh!" The two girls crept into the living room to find Buffy smiling at them.

"It's a bit early to go slaying isn't it Dawn?"
The teens started to breathe again seeing that it was only Buffy.

"It being sunny and all. Doesn't quite explain you two being here instead of at school."

"What are you doing here? Don't you have a shift at the DMP?"

Buffy turned her attention back to the tv, staring at the screen.

"Me being here isn't the point. The fact is that you guys are supposed to be in school." Neither girl tried to argue. "I didn't mean to, but I overheard what you guys were saying in the kitchen and before you object to my invasion of your privacy I want to say that I am behind you." "You heard? But it wasn't very; we didn't mention that we were dating each other. How did?" Dawn flailed about not sure if she wanted to continue this conversation with her sister and girlfriend in the same room.

"I am not blind."

"But what about all the times you let me sleep over?"

" I also trust you. Because you know that I can ground you till you're forty if I find out you guys are doing anything-"

"Nope! Nothing going on!" Janice edged herself slightly in front of Dawn, as if to shield her from Buffy so she couldn't send Dawn to her room now.

"Good. You better hurry and eat. Because you ARE going back to school today."

Dawn moaned at her sister, and Janice giggled.

"WHAT'S GOING ON??"

Three heads swiveled to the entranceway of the living room to find Willow confused.

"Dawn and Janice were just, uh-" "It's okay Buffy." Dawn felt Janice squeeze her hand. " Willow, Janice and I are girlfriends."

"Okay. But it doesn't explain why all of you are here." Willow impatiently tapped her foot waiting for an answer.

"Janice and I had to talk about our relationship, and I didn't want o at school so we came here. Bye!" Dawn grabbed Janice's handed and pulled them both out of the house exclaiming the whole way: "Jeeze was she mad!! Did she look angry to you?"

Buffy chuckled at the teenagers. "You didn't have to give them a heart attack, Will. I had it covered, but thanks for the back up."
Willow Set her bag on the floor.

"Why are you here Buffy? I thought you had a shift?" The redhead's head scrunched up in a cute frown. "Is this because of that thing?"

"What thing?"

That thing this morning when I kinda&." Willow mumbled the rest and Buffy even with her super hearing couldn't figure out what Willow had said.

"Wanna repeat that again Will?"
Willow sat in a chair near the couch.

"This morning when I embarrassed you" Willow stared at her hands, unable to look at Buffy.

"No! So not that thing! I - this is really stupid, but I got fired."

"What?!"

"Yeah. I sort of poured a milkshake over a customers head, and then told him where he could shove the straw.'

"Wow."

"Wasn't my finest moment."
