Re: Fic; Journey of a Thousand Miles(6/8)
Kirayoshi,
Aw, wonderfully mature yet believable portrait of Tara realizing that
Willow loves Buffy, and accepting it. Spike at his scummiest, a clever
reversal on VampJonathan, keyed by Andrew's headlong dash, and nice
working in of the Invisibility Ray.
(Actually, I had a little rant here about why didn't the Scoobs have
Willow build them one of their own instead of completely forgetting
about it after "Gone", but then I remembered that the gun was powered by
the mystical properties of the stolen diamond, and since the gang wasn't
going to keep that, they couldn't build an I-Ray of their own.
Apologies to Fury; he covered that potential plot-hole. [Guess he was
saving all his stupidity for "Grave".])
The last two chapters look to be quite exciting. I can't wait!
Dan
PS"Firefly" may not have out-and-out sucked, but it definitely blew.
Sad to see that Joss has slipped so badly as both writer and director.
OTOH, "John Doe" blew it out of the water. I "rewound" the TV so I
could tape one of the two shows, and it wasn't the one Joss dumped
"Buffy" for.
Reviews tomorrow if I get the time.
