Oi,

Okay, i know we shouldn`t respond to the e-mail and just vote,but this
particular topic, on or off ? , is something that I don`t think could be
responded by a simple answer , and well, i`m a babler, so.... I know that
the amount of off-topic discussion has , especially as of late, increased
quite a bit...I`ll even admit that I ended up getting caught in one of them,
but quite frankly, i don`t think this is something set....I know that there
are a few people that are bothered by them, but just like today the moviment
is high tomorrow it is down, and it has been so since the first days....The
discussion has been here since the first days of the lists, it`s one of the
lists reasons to be here in the first place, and while i do believe some of
them have been distanced from the topic of the lists i don`t think of that
as a reason to stop them...Maybe discussions about wether Spike is good or
bad, Joss sucks or not, or how great Tara is really aren`t why most people
are here, heck, it isn`t what the list is about either...But a discussion
about how cute they looked in a certain ep, or how distanced they seemed
from each other or how this or that particular plot would have worked better
had it involved them IS why the lists are here...Instead of promoting the
end of the discussions on the group we should just remember why we are here
in the first place...If we wanna talk about something , let it be them....I
think that that is not only a good way to keep the lists alive but it also
gives a chance to our non-writers to interact , plus gives the writers a few
ideas....A crazy idea that came from reading a persons opinion on a certain
scene can end up becoming a great fic....Or maybe two people that find
thenselves agreeing on a certain thing can end up becoming great fic
partners and so on....

As for spoilers...We could make a policy about that ...Posting spoilers for
future eps is fine, but discussion about what it may or may not imply is
restricted to B/W topics or something like that...That should decrease the
amount of speculation and all....As for the episode reviews , well, i think
they may be valid...To those who will only see the eps in awhile is quite a
good a good source of information...The thing we could do is try to focus
more on the B/W or Buffy or Willow aspect of the episode...We have a show
with over a hundred eps aired here people, and they , along with Xander, are
the ones that have been there since the very first one, so i believe that we
have a LOT to talk about...Scenes we saw between them, scenes we didn`t get
to see....Around seven years of Buffy/Willow...If you don`t like what you
see now, there sure were lots of things left to review...I Robot, You Jane,
Choices, Beer Bad....Take a pick, talk about it, what happened , what should
have happened...We could even set up a page and put a few of the B/W based
reviews on them....It may be silly , but sometimes people only see when they
know what to look for and maybe that way not only us but also non-believers
will see what we see between them... Join the force : )

As for the message board, it may be a good idea, i`m a firm believer that
the more the merrier, as long as it doesn`t mean that that particular
content will be restricted here....I also think that maybe a particular site
for B/W and B/W alone fics would be a better idea...It`s something i`d like
to see since the lists started ...Kinda like A slayer and a hacker ... It
would be a chance for non B/W-ers to find the ship but also a great source
for all of us...Plus, it would be perfect for those that don`t want any
discussion at all....As for the idea that less fics are posted because of
discussion...Well, i disagree with that...If people are posting less fics it
also has to do with the starus of the relationship on the show right now,
not with the status of the lists....In fact , i think that maybe talking
about the possibilities for the couple, could have beens and such would even
help get a few people`s creative juices flowing....Lack of discussion
doesn`t really mean increase of fic, if it did Buffyloves Willow would be
flowing with fic right now....

As for the people who are uncomfortable with this situation...I could ask
for your help to change this without any drastic and permanent changes...A
while after we agreed to let a few authors post non W/B fics there was a
semingly explosion of them that made quite a few umconfortable ( i`ll even
admit i was one of them ) ...It was like there was more non B/W being posted
than B/W , there was even a B/W only list created ( which i joined as soon
as i could) and all...Now, the logical thing would be forbid the non B/W fic
from the lists, but we didn`t...And as you can see everything worked out
okay...Off topic fics and few discussions are exceptions , not rules and by
the end of the day most people end up realising that....Still, i don`t know
which arguments these people used to express their lack of satisfaction
towards the lists to Kim, so now i`d like to say that i`m opening the line
here...I`m giving you my opinion regarding my position on this particular
matter, but i`m very willing to listen...Those who are feeling umconfortable
or don`t agree with me, just e-mail me...I may not respond right away but
i`ll respond....I may be very but very absent, but these lists are still ,
even after three years , my favorite place on the net, as the couple, that
is still my fave despite everything, and the thruth is, i hope it is for
more people too...

So, by the end what i`m trying to say is that we don`t need to make it all
stop...we only need to make it about Buffy/Willow...If you like discussion,
make it about B/W , but if you want more fic...Well, first , pray for more
ficworth moments , second, send feedback so you`ll have the chance from see
more from your favorite author and three , it`s time to recruit : 0 If you
know someone that already likes the ship and maybe only needs a little push
to write, then push him/her, if you have a favorite writer that only writes
about other shows/pairs, well, maybe you should try to get them so see the
light, if you know a former B/W writer that has given up on the pair try to
get them back to the old way of thinking, rekindle the flame, remember the
old moments and so on...Go after it...Plus, we can always pester the ones
that are around....I have Barney and telletubies little figuresand lots of
midis from 80`s songs ready to send....I`m armed and i know how to use it
: ) Small effort , great reward : )
