OY! If what Buffy and Spike had was a 'romance', I wonder about Joss's personal life!  Although I'd prefer that she follow the example she suggested for Xander and 'wake up and smell the hottie!', I can accept Buffy and Angel.  They had a history, they had chemistry, and they still have a bond.

Had a conversation with Pat Kelly the other day.  He pointed out the difference between Angel and Spike-with-a-Soul;  Angel does good because he wishes to do good.  Spike does good because he wants to impress Buffy.  Angel regrets the death and madness he caused when he was Angelus.  Spike's past crimes don't bother him.  Spike has proven, therefore, that actually having a soul doesn't necessarily make you a better person.
