Interesting question.
Hi,
I am mostly a lurker here, I'll admit, though I am a
fan fic writer in my own right with my website at:
http://angelfire.com/wi/sambrea/index.html
and am actually writing a Buffy/Willow fic right now
entitled "California Dreamin'", you can find the first
part of it under the Luna series.
Anyways, I am thinking of revamping it for like the
fourth time and was wondering if anyone else ran into
that sort of problem where they had too many ideas
that they wanted to smush into a single fic. I did
find a way around that problem and made it into a
trilogy (Ocean Girl, not Buffy) but I seem to find
myself constantly coming up with ideas to start the
same fic.
Take "California Dreamin'" for instance. The basic
concept is that they end up in Luna (that's about as
basic as you can get!). Anyways, my first thought was
to just send everyone there on the wings of the third
season finale/fourth season opener of Angel (the one
where he gets put in the box in the ocean) with the
Buffy gang helping him come back and something
happening, like the box is cursed or some such thing.
Well, then i decided that that wasn't enough, so I
brought "The Gift" into the picture by having Buffy
still die in that, but instead of her body falling to
the ground, she's magically transported to Luna and
they're able to save her there (Luna's my massive Star
Trek: voyager, Slider, Animorphs, Space Cases,
Charmed, and Ocean Girl crossover with Buffy and Angel
coming into the picture and more to come, probably)
with their high tech stuff and bring the rest of the
gang into it later with the same premise about the
box. Well, now I'm thinking of changing it to Dawn
being sent there in the first place. Geez.
Anyone else have this problem?
Sambrea
