OT: New FF rating system needed...

Delurking for a moment...(Sorry about the cross post, but I'm sending 
this to all groups I can remember that are related to fanfiction I'm on.)

On a group I am a new member of, recent discussions have turned to the 
dreadful Cease and Desist orders and writers on the net who've been 
slapped with them.  It seems that a number of people have recived the 
damned things because of the use of the NC-17 rating on their websites.

Someone came up with a solution I liked and though I'd share.  [grins]

Another idea: switch to the Australian ratings system.  The US can't go 
and winge over that now can they?

G        - Like your US but covers a little more
PG      - More of a meeting ground between PG and PG-13
M        - Essentially PG-13 but is actually 15 and above (some US 'R' 
ratings have been classified as only M here)
MA     - You've got to be an adult, essentially 'R'
R         - Heh, really violent or graphic stuff.  Usually reserved for 
the stuff you shouldn't watch, but end up doing so anyways.  ie: Se7en, 
Trainspotting, porn, Ninja Scrolls...

I stick to the Aus system, since it makes so much more sense to 
me...plus, if I ever touch ff.net again, they can't yell at me.  
[smirks]   If you want a better discription/examples of our ratings, 
give me a shout.  But, mostly, just look out for C&D letters, hey?
