Dear Gramma and Grampa,

First off, I want to thank you for how wonderful you've been.  The two of  
you have been so supportive and accepting of me and Willow.  We love you  
both so much.

We're so glad you both are going to be at our wedding.  It gives us hope  
for our future together that you'll be there for us.  I can't tell you how  
proud I am of you for this.  Because of all your love and support, Willow  
and I have a favor to ask of you.

As you know, neither of Willow's parents have accepted me as part of their  
daughter's life.  Ira says we're violating the Torah while Sheila seems to  
think this is just a phase that Willow will grow out of.

My unfortunately current father, your ex-son-in-law, has forbidden my  
marrying Willow.  At least, that's what the note we got said.  Not that he  
could be bothered to actually talk to his daughter on such an important  
subject.

Outside of our dear friends, my mom and you two are the only family Willow  
and I will have.  Honestly, I'm not complaining.  Just setting up for the  
favor.

Neither Willow nor I feel right starting our new family by honoring either  
the Summers or the Rosenberg names.  Neither of those families want us so  
why should we claim them?

Willow and I have talked and we want to honor you as you have honored us.   
So we'd like to ask you if we could take my mother's maiden name, your  
name, as our own.  We'd like to be known to the world as Buffy and Willow  
Evans, after the one side of either of our families that has accepted us.

Please say yes.

Hello Everybody!

Just a thought I've had on Willow and Buffy and all the "Willow Summers"  
"Buffy Rosenberg" "Rosenberg-Summers" etc. names I've seen proposed.  It  
seemed wrong somehow to use either of those names when, almost  
universally, Joyce is the only one portrayed as accepting the pairing.

If you want to steal this concept for a fic of your own, feel free.  In  
fact, I'd be honored.

Just so you know, I pulled the name out of the phone book.  No other  
significance.

Reviews and C&C cheerfully accepted.  Flames used to spit-roast the sender.
