FF: Happy SongFic

Title: Happy Songfic :)
Disclaimer: Joss, Mutant Enemy and associates own all the Buffy
characters. The lyrics belong to Guns and Roses. But don't stop
reading because of it. I'm borrowing them with every intention of
putting them back before anyone yells at me.
Feedback: Is an important source of fiber, so please send me some.
Note: I've never written anything *happy* before.

She's got a smile and it seems to me reminds me of childhood memories
When everything was as fresh as the bright blue sky.
Now and then when I see her face, it takes me away to that special
place
And if I stare too long I'll probably break down and cry.

Buffy looked down at mother and child asleep in her bed. She
remembered that fateful day in college when she had first seen Willow
across the quad, seen her as more than just "Willow, best friend in
the entire world" and seen her as Willow, beautiful, innocent object
of intense desire." The need she had felt for her best friend had
been so intense it actually caused her physical pain. They rushed
headlong into love, exploring this new world with fervent, gasping
passion. As she sat, watching her partner and child sleep she
silently thanked Riley for pointing out to her the depth of her love
for Willow. They were watching her walk off to the library shortly
after the "Tara Incident."
"Oh, I give up!" Riley had exclaimed.
Buffy had turned and looked quizzically at him.
"You are so madly, head over heels in love with Willow that it
can't even be bothered to compete. I'd have a better chance beating
you in a fight in the gym than beating her in a fight for your heart."
Buffy had denied it at first, insisted that all she felt for
Willow was the love of a good friend but then she had seen her from
across the quad and BAM! That was the end of Buffy Summers, straight
girl.

Sweet child of mine
Sweet love of mine.

Willow stirred a little in her sleep and opened her eyes. "Hi."
"Hey love, I didn't mean to wake you."
"That's alright. I heard your thoughts when you came in.
You're right."
"About what?"
"She's the most beautiful thing in the entire world." They both
smiled down at the blonde-haired, green-eyed girl who was all
their own, a sort off gift from the PTB for their years of good
service, conceived of nothing more than the purest love. They
shared their thoughts as they reminisced.
<Remember the time I made you and Spike drive to Angel's to get
Cordelia's Pickle-Chicken? >
<Yeah, he almost->
<Popped. That was funny.>
<Remember Xander and Riley when they saw her the first time?>
<Xander and Riley nothing. Giles cried like a little boy who
accidently killed his pet frog.>
<You looked like a cat who just swallowed a canary. I never
seen
someone look so proud of something their wife did.>
<Yeah and you screamed, remember? "You've got Slayer powers!
Why didn't they let you do this?!>
<I think the nurse thought I was crazy.
<Yeah, she never looked at you the same after that.>
<I love you. More than life itself.>

She's got eyes of the bluest skies as if they're fallen rain
I hate to look into those eyes and see an ounce of pain
Her hair reminds me of a warm safe place where as a child I'd hide
And pray for the thunder and the rain to quietly pass me by

Buffy watched her little girl play on the swings. Every time
she
swung this high the Slayer let out a little gasp. Intellectually she
was aware that some of her Slayer qualities had rubbed off on their
daughter, but still that was an awfully high swing.
"Amy, honey, don't swing so high. You make Mommy nervous."
Willow called to their daughter.
"I know Mommy I heard her." They had been shocked to find out
recently that their daughter could share their thoughts, just as they
could each other's. They had learned to stop wandering thoughts
before they began very quickly. No one liked to answer the question
"Mommy, why do you want to eat whipped cream off mommy's chest?" more
than once.

Sweet child of mine
Sweet love of mine.

Buffy still remembered when she hadn't finally been given leave
to lay down her sword. It was a day much like this one, she was with
Amy in the park alone that day, and Willow was at a meeting somewhere
and had dragged Xander along with her. Buffy had started at the hand
being laid on her shoulder.
"Are you Buffy Summers?" The young woman had asked.
"Who wants to know?" she had replied, wary of her daughter's
safety.
"My name is Sakora, I'm the new Slayer, Faith's replacement. I
had a dream the week before I came here. Two weird looking things in
togas, a young man and a young woman. They told me to tell you that
your work was done, that you were free. They told me to tell you the
you were too old."
"I'm not that old." Buffy had protested half-heartedly. She
was
free, she thought to herself, free.
"Apparently you are. They said that you would help me settle in
but then you were out if you wanted to be. There needs be only one
they said."
She was free.

Where do we go? Where do we go now? Where do go now?
Where do we go? Sweet child, where do we go?

<Anywhere we want my love, anywhere we want. >
<I love you Wills>
<I love you too Buff>
<I love both of you Mommy>

PS. If anyone could be so kind as to volunteer to read the first
part
of my "summer project" I'd be forever in your debt.
Fool.
