PART TWO

She stumbled down the dark alley holding her swollen stomach. She
pulled the tattered clothes that she'd stolen around her, trying
to out-run them but she was too weak. They followed her, taunting
her.

Angel laughed at her as she fell to her knees. "Does it hurt
lover?" He pulled the sword out of his chest. "You killed
me."

Jenny's dead eyes gazed through her. "Giles blames you. We
could've had a great life together but you killed me." Her
neck fell limply to one side unable to support her head.

Kendra stood over her holding her neck blood dripping from her
hand. "If you hadn't let your heart get in the way, I'd
be alive. I'm dead because of you."

The room shifted and she was in the hospital her wrists hand-cuffed
being led down the hallway by police officers. She jerked away from
them trying to get free but they tackled her to the ground. She felt
her head crack on the floor but her eyes remained locked on the
blurry figure of her crying daughter being carried away by another
policeman.

Buffy screamed, jerking awake. She blinked several times trying to
adjust to the bright walls in Willow's living room. Buffy hated
the silence that filled the apartment during the day while Willow was
at work and Kat was in school. It gave her too much time to ponder
the nightmares and her relationship with her daughter. Kat had
barely talked to her in the month since she'd come home and
everything that she did to gain Kat's trust had only made things
worse. Finally she decided to stop trying and hoped that Kat would
make the move when she was ready.

The doorbell rang and Buffy stood up slowly. It wasn't until
Willow started her on an exercise program that Buffy realized just
how weak she had become while in prison. Her sore muscles protested
the movements but she finally opened the door.

"Oz!" The red-headed musician pulled her into a hug.

"Buffy you look good." Oz noticed that she had put on a few
pounds since he had last seen her but she was still to thin.

"You were never a good at lying." She punched him on the arm
before leading him into the couch. "What are you doing
here?" It was weird how she felt instantly at ease with Oz. Oz
was just Oz. He had never passed judgment on her. Next to Willow
and Giles he had visited her the most while she was in prison and
Buffy knew that Kat adored Oz.

"The band has a few days off for Thanksgiving and Willow asked me
to come by." Buffy smiled at him. He had been worrying about her
ever since Willow had called him earlier in the week. She'd been
upset that all Buffy did during the day was sit around and she
wouldn't leave the house at the night except to train with Giles
twice a week. "Go get dressed and I'll take you out to
lunch."

"Oz, I don't know...I..."

"It's no problem."

"Well...I am kinda hungry. I'll be right back."

Oz looked up when Buffy came back into the room. She was dressed in
blue jeans and a light blue sweeter with the right sleeve pinned
where her arm ended.

"Can you help me with the strings on these." Oz noticed that
she wouldn't look at him when he knelt down to tie her shoes.
"Thank you."

"No problem." Buffy followed Oz out the door and down to his
car.

************

"She continues to grow weaker, sir."

"Tell me, Mr. Bavavo, something that I don't already
know." Quentin Travers' stared at the green demon kneeling
in front of him before sitting at his desk.

"There is much confusion and anger among the two." Travers
motioned for the demon to continue. "The daughter knows nothing
of her destiny."

"Then perhaps you and your associates should acquaint Ms. McKenna
with her future."

"What about the slayer?"

The demon couldn't help but flinch when Travers smiled.
"Bring her
to me."

END PART TWO

- Is it just me or does my writing seem to be sucky lately? I
just can't get into the sequel so I'm wondering if anyone is
interested in co-writing this story with me. If you are
interested please e-mail me. -
