In the movie Buffy (played by Kristy Swanson) was a senior. For
the series she started out as a Sophomore. The movie is at best
only partially canonical for the series, there are a large number
of discrepencies (eg in the movie vamps can fly, Buffys secret
weapon is PMT in the series it is explicitly stated in the first
ep that vamps cannot fly and it is indicated that Buffy cannot
detect vamps in any eosoteric manner &c).
