Weekly Theme!

HA!!

I'll bet you *never* thought you'd see those words again. For those of you who have
joined us recently, Rod (my never present listhubby) started a weekly theme thing when
this list was opened back in December. There was a very good response to it and the fic
just kept rolling in! It's basically a way to keep your muses on their toes. Well, I've
noticed that the list has been a little quiet and I decided it was time to wake you all
up!! So, without further delay, on to the theme:

LIVING CONDITIONS
Inspired of course by this weeks repeat episode - but of course this is gonna be Buffy &
Willow style.

Remember that these are just examples to help you along. You can make the fic about
anything you want, but the theme has to be centered around 'living conditions'...doesn't
matter who's....the main couple of course will be Buffy and Willow. Also, the fic doesn't
need to be long...1 part or even 2 or 3....with the weekly themes we usually shoot for
quality with little quantity..meaning don't kill yourself with writing 20 parts of a
fic...the thing that matters is following the theme. Here are some examples::

Example 1:
Future fic set way after graduation. They drifted for some reason (make it up, lol) and
suddenly run into each other at a coffee house in the middle of no where. Will the Slayer
finally admit her feelings for Will? Or is Willow the one to do the fessing up? And just
why did they drift?

Example 2:
Willow is harboring a secret. Buffy's determined to find out what it is. It has to do
with her parents and it's huge!!! Maybe Willow's parents are more like Xander's parents
than she'd care to admit? What will the Slayer do to protect and/or help Willow in this
situation? OR What if....Willow's parents took off? Left? Sianara? Adios? How long
can Willow keep it a secret from the Slayer? You could have Willow keeping a part time
job at night to keep up with the bills for her house, or doing something, um..more
dangerous..like lending out her wicca services for a price. You decide.

Example 3:
Willow gets hurt. Really really really bad. Demon, vampire, whatever. She's in a coma in
the hospital and has been for almost a year. Have Buffy reflect on their
friendship...make it from Buffy's POV and include flashbacks on key moments in their
friendship. This can end anyway you want..either Willow wakes up, or not, or Buffy finds
a way to bring her out of it...or you could switch the two and have Buffy be the one that
gets hurt and Willow tries to bring her out of it magically. If you do the one where
Buffy gets hurt, you can include a sort of 'walkthru' of Buffy's mind as Willow is
experiencing it. her childhood, her year at Hemry, killing Angel, you could also include
emotions on Buffy's part on how she feels about Willow....use your imagination.

Example 4:
We all loved and enjoyed Pat Kelly's fic "My Time In Sunnydale". So? What the heck are
you waiting for?? Do it!!! I really thought a lot more people would try it after he
posted. OR If you don't want to write yourself into Sunnydale, how about putting someone
else in there? I don't care who..it can be a mythical creature, your favorite fic writer,
a talking moose (yeah, I know it's a stretch!)....just make it so whoever you put in there
needs the help of the scooby gang and has to live with one of them. Or all of them...you
could have this be the very beginning of season 5 and they're all moving into the rumored
'Scooby house".

Okay kids..get cranking. Remember, this counts towards the nominations for the second I
Kind Of Love You awards. I'd really love to see some responses to this....we kind of
slacked off since Rod's been in hiding and I'd love to start it up again. Please don't
disappoint the list mommy. Pretty please? With Scooby Snacks on top?
