You're doing your level best to generate a love/hate relationship here.
I love the story, but just when you get to the best part (the staking of
Riley), you give me a TBC!!!! Aaaaarrrggghhhhhh!!!!!!! 

How could you? That's just despicable! You could have at least turned
the jerk into dustbuster chow before you stopped. 

So now you realize you must hurry and get the next part out ASAP. I'll
be watching for your next posting with rabid anticipation (yes I do
sometimes foam at the mouth and bite). ]:-)

This is a nice piece of work you got here. 
I'm really enjoying some of the predicaments you've come up with for
them, and the geometric and mathematical possibilities are staggering.
