The probably largest feedback mail this list has ever seen.....
Ok, let me see if I catch all. I hope I did, cause it would be bad if I hadmissed something. Also, this is just the first mail. There are more to come.
Oh, and before reading any further, please bear in mind, I have set back most fics for the past weeks. That means, that feedback may come late, and some of the things I mention here may lie a little back :-)
Eric Baily.....
Well, well, well. What do you think you are doing here? You start with a small 'continuation' of one of my siglets, and make a "Missing Scene" outof it. And now, after gracing us with hilarious uc-shipping overviews, yougo into full length missing scene fics, starting from the very beginning. Outstanding job! You showed us where the show should have gone from the very beginning :-D (and this is my B/W shipper side shining through). A small tip for your future projects. Watch the episodes and capture those special looks Buffy always throws towards Willow. They are the best evidence for usthat there just HAS to be something between them. I just watched "I Robot,You Jane" today, and I was overwhelmed by the things that have been said. Even though it was in german (still hate the dubbing), I was quite sure that there were some conversations that could have been seen as them trying toget 'closer' ;-) Keep the good work coming.
Kirayoshi.....
Jim, you are a really magnificant writer. "Sappho's Scroll" was a greatread, and there were scenes where I really had to laugh. Maybe it's because I don't dwell in the Xenaverse, but you did quite some job here. And "Stranger in Her Eyes" was a true bomb. Though I must say, I noticed the small 'copies' from my fic. Great way of focusing in on the relationship and the jealousy of Tara. You have to keep up with Shy to keep this series this great. And for an old read, "Ghost of a Chance" was finally finished. Another great read.
"Life is sweet".... would I be here to mark it for accomplishing your challenge, you'd get an A+. Had I to describe how I liked it, you'd get an A++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ :-D
You truly know how to write your stories, and I'm looking forward to anything you grace us with.
And "The Third Power", what can I say? You capture some very memorable moments, in ways that are just hilarious. I won't go into further detail, causeI don't wanna spoil anything in case some have not read it yet, but it wasincredibly great, and after that cliffhanger, I just want, no I NEED more.
"I'm Free" is another great example as to how good you are. I second all the praises you already got, and throw in my own amount, just to give you a good reason, not to stop writing.
Shyfox.....
Great job with "NKA" and "Keeper of the Stars". Errors aside, it was a beautiful wedding, and more than worth the time invested to read it. NKA...It was damn time again to see Janeway back in the picture. And after that simply perfect part 8, I'm desperately waiting for just about anything you give me to read. As for "Past Imperfect", you have put yourself in quite some situation there, and I'm really looking forward to see more of this, especially to see how a 15 year old Buffy will react to a 19+ year old Willow. And there is still the question as to is this somehow linked with another of your stories? Answers, I crave, answers.
Shehulk.....
You have done a great job with "There once was a demon..." You wrote itin a way that helped me tremendously with staying here to wait for all thefics. Loved the cola scene (believe me, I still have that scene dancing around in my mind :-). I noticed that you constantly switched the perspectivefrom Buffy to Willow and back. Still you never made the mistake to explainthe same second of the scene two times in the same way, and kept moving the scenes forward while switching between them. Again, great job! I'm looking forward to see more from you.
Kimber.....
You amazed me with the work you did with "These Roads we travel". I'm really waiting for more, even though I think I can wait a little more, with all the fics I still have to read ;-) "Everything fades in time" was a hardread, and I'm going to take my time to read it at least once again. (feel honored, I don't do that for everyone ;-)))
Janine.....
oh wonderful Janine. You should already know my opinion, after all, I was the first to tell you how much I liked "Forgive if not Forget" (hard notto be when being the beta reader ;-). Anyway, and again, I LOVED your story, and despite your moving into a new home, I hope you'll find the time to write something new and I'm looking forward to anything you'll grace us with.
Pat Kelly.....
Pat, I revise all my earlier compliments towards you. You're not a genious, you're a GOD! Believe me, after reading what you did with "My time in Sunnydale", I can't think different of you than as a fanfic god. As I firstread that title, I supposed you put yourself into that universe, and wouldhave written yourself as if you'd been part of that universe from the start. Just what did I think? Somehow I come to wish you'd make a sequel to this, to get to know them a little better. Especially Tara ;-)
Just do me one favor. Never, absolutely NEVER, stop writing. If you do, then I'll personally hunt you down, tie you into one of those hospital weelchairs, and torture you with wet noodles, all the time forcing you to watch Barney and the Teletubbies in a special 672 hour edition. And I'll continue this torment until you start writing again. But that's just in case you evercut what has become my lifethread, if you ever stop letting me read your work, your stories, things that can only come from a fanfic god. Please, do me that favor :-).
Shadowlander.....
A very funny part behind "Tiger by the Tail" 5, but too short. You should know that such teasers can turn a group of pieceful fanfic readers into a lynch mob that's chasing you cause they want more. So feed us. Give us more.
Sam.....
You're creating quite some tension between the three girls. First you let Willow realize too late how it is for her feelings, and then you let them suffer because they all fear to loose their dearest. You're doing quite some job here. But, there's just too often a but :-), I found quite some mistakes in the stories that would have been avoidable by simply beta reading them. But all in all, I liked the stories, and I'm really looking forward as to which way you continue. Also, you write Tara a little too much stuttering. In her current state as Buffy's gf, assuming she would feel as good asshe's doing in canon with Willow, she wouldn't stutter that much, except in situations where she gets nervous, or unsure about herself. On the other side, you manage to capture Willow Perfect. I don't have that much time, soI can't beta all your stories, but if you want to, then I'll beta this series. :-)
Carol.....
The Reinfield goes along quite well. Seeing as how Buffy learned to live with her inner primitive, Tara as someone who knows enough to know that the Slayer's been treated totally wrong, and the Council in the middle of all that, is just awesome. Keep this coming.
HF (and I'm going to keep using this name, cause 'fool' just sounds ridiculous if said that way).....
First read of yours was "I hate my stupid Job". Mostly because I wantedto read Jim's "I'm free" and I must say, you really wrote a good songfic. Pieces of conversations, thrown in for good measurement of the song, and all showing the most important moments. This part, is actually written like one of the BtVS teasers in the previews or as a "Previously on Buffy the Vampire Slayer" clip. Like you have 'No Doubt' playing the song in the background, while the video clips of these conversations are running over the screen. Marvelous job!
Alex P......
"A year in Hell". I can without doubt say that this was one of the mostdepressing fics I've ever read. Seeing as how Willow had to suffer in thatyear, only to find out in the end that all that she had lived through, herown personal hell, that all that was something that she could have been avoidable, had she just gone back. What do we learn from that? Don't try to run away from your inner demons. It's not worth it; you loose too much by running and gain nothing. Face them, face and fight them, and in the end you'll be glad you did it.
It's good to see she made it in the end, and it was a very good written piece of work. I'm not one of those who are going to send you hate mails for what you have done to Willow, because I know exactly that for all the happies we get in fanfiction, there are also some sad and depressing stories thathave to be written. I'm glad you did that.
