RE: [buffywantswillow] OT: Hey you! Wiccan over there in the cor ner!
Just my thoughts, since I answer the description in the subject heading.
1) Yes, at least in my traditions. The hierarchy is female dominated, with
the High Priest and Priestess selected by all of the qualified 3rd degree
Wiccas. In some circles, the position, though elected, is essentially
passed from mother to daughter with that persons sig other becoming the high
priest.
2) Definite rituals for all of the situations you've indicated, in addition
to several others. The high priestess is the keeper of all rituals, and
uses her experience and the experience of all previous high priestesses in
her area (they are all rabid record keepers) to make each ritual unique,
while retaining certain core elements.
3) The Lord and the Lady, or God and Goddess, representing the male and
female aspect of creation are the primary Deities of my traditions. - They
each have several aspects, and those aspects are often described as separate
gods for ritual and prayer purposes.
Hope this helps.

Yeah, I got a question for you!
Now that's a subject heading.
Hey all, just your friendly neighbourhood enforcemnt grizzly with a couple
of quick questions for ye old Wiccan-awareness people out there.
1) Does Wicca have any sort of hierarchy, even a highly localized one or is
it basically just everyone for themselves within the context of accepted
rites, rituals etc?
2) does Wicca have set rites for certain events of spirtiual significance,
ie, marriage, death, birth etc? And if so who decides what these rites will
be?
3)Who are the Wiccan dieties?
If anyone could answer these questions I would greatly appreciate it.
Muchas Gracias (the slaughter of other languages= fun)
