BtSV:Chapter 6-Buffy Takes The Initiative

Previously on Buffy the Slayer Vampire
Spike turns Buffy
Buffy marries Willow restoring her soul 

Screech! The driver hits the breaks to late, jumps the curb and plows into
Willow. She is knocked through a store window.

The driver, who is drunk, passes out. Buffy picks up Willow and takes her
out the back door, heading for Giles' place.

When the police arrive, there is no sign of the victim.

The next day at on campus Willow is going to class. Forrest sees her and
freaks.

"Colonel, I saw her get knocked through a plate glass window, last night." 

"Forrest, that is impossible." MacNamara replies. "Unless she isn't really
human. Get a team and take her in."

Willow is going to an evening class when she is startled to see a familiar
face.

"Hello, Oz."

"Hello, Willow." Oz has a big grin on his face. "It is really good to see
you. How are you doing? How is the gang?" Oz is in full babble mode. "Gee,
you smell different. You been hanging out with a vampire? It smells like
Buffy. What happened?"

"I am fine. The gang is fine. Yes. It should. And a lot has happened." she
replies. "What brings you back?"

"You. I got in touch with my inner wolf, and have full control." he
answers. "I still change physically at the full moon, but I am in charge,
not the wolf. The rest of the month I can change at will. I found an old
hermit who was able to teach me how. So now we can be together again."

"That's great, Oz." Willow responds. "But I have someone else. Someone whom
I love very much."

"I guess you couldn't wait forever." He looks saddened. "Is it anyone I
Know?"

"Yes, its Buffy. And before you ask, it's a long story and I have to get to
class. Meet us later, and we will talk."

"Okay." he agrees. "Where, and when?"

"At our room about 10. See ya."

She heads to class when 4 guys grab her and drag her away. Oz follows and
sees them carry her into an underground bunker.

Buffy is studying when someone starts pounding on her door. She opens the
door to find Oz.

"Buffy, someone has kidnapped Willow! They took her into some under ground 
base."

"Where? And did you get a good look at who did it? Hi Oz."

He tells her where one and describes the commandos.

"Damn! Why would the Initiative want Willow?" She walks over to the phone
and dials. "Riley, your friends have kidnapped Willow. I want her
released. Riley, dammit, don't hang.." she looks at Oz. "He hung up."

A few minutes later Riley knocks on her door.

"Buffy, Willow is not human." Riley explains. "She was hit by a car last
night, and severely injured. I am sorry but..."

"Not as sorry as you will be if you hurt her." Buffy bares her fangs at
him.

"Buffy, what happened?" Riley backs away.

"Spike happened." Buffy snarls. "He turned me. I staked him. Willow and I
had a ceremony that restored my soul, and made her immortal. Any
questions?"

"Yeah, why her?" asks Oz.

"Because I love her. That's why."

"Good reason." he answers.

"OK, I'll help." Riley is looking like he's been slugged.

Later the Scoobies have gathered in her room.

"How are you going to get in, Buffy?" Xander asks.

"I figure that Riley has captured another vampire, me." she answers. "Do
you think it will work, Riley?"

"Maybe, if you dress differently, and stay fanged up." he answers. "You
might also consider a wig. You don't want to recognized, after all."

"Quite right." Giles agrees. "And you might need this." He hands Buffy a
blood bag. "The emergency supply you keep in my refrigerator."

"Thanks, Giles." She drinks it. Riley look faintly repulsed. "We have got
to get an ice box in here."

"We could use a diversion." Riley says. "Any ideas."

"How about a werewolf running around downtown?" offers Oz.

"Where do we get a werewolf?" snorts Riley.

Oz gives a big, very toothy grin. "I think I can find one."

"Oz, you are not reserved guy any more." Buffy observes. "What gives."

"I got in touch with my inner wolf, which made it harder to conceal my
emotions." he shrugs. "Its not so bad. Guess I better go start my
diversion."

"I think I'll go help Oz." Xander offers. "They won't let me in there
again."

"Right. Be careful." cautions the blond vampire. "We don't want to have to
rescue you. Alright guys, into the hall while I change."

Oz parks his van in an alley, strips and changes to wolf. He then runs
around howling. When the soldier boys show up he enters the alley and
jumps in his van. When they commandos run by, Oz looks scared and points
at the back door of Willy's. "I..it went in there!"

They go running in. Oz grins as he hears someone screaming.

Else where in town the commandos are fighting with a yellow skinned demon
that finally gets away.

Meanwhile, Buffy dressed in leather and short black wig, is being carried
into the Initiative by Riley.

"This is Finn. I caught a vampire that was chasing some people on campus."
He dumps Buffy on a cart. "Where is everyone?"

"Off chasing some HSTs running amok downtown." explains Forrest who had to 
stay behind. "This one doesn't look so tough."

They take her to the holding area where Buffy proceeds to 'wake up' and
kick ass. She starts by suckerpunching Riley. Then she drop kicks Forrest
across the room. When he hits the wall, he bounces. Willow, hearing the
commotion, uses her witch abilities and hacker skills to open every cage
door, releasing all the demons, and herself.

Buffy and Willow take time for one good hug.

Willow stops at the terminal, and erases all record of herself. She also
turns off the sprinkler system and all alarms. "This is sure easier with
fingers instead of witchcraft." she comments.

On the way out Buffy commandeers a flame thrower and flames everything in 
sight, especially the computers.

Later at Giles' the gang gathers.

"So, Oz. How did it go?" Buffy asks. She is looking her more normal self.

"They didn't expect a whole room full of demons." Oz grins.

"Sorry I couldn't be of more assistance." says Xander holding his head.
"The last thing I remember is getting hit by a stray fist."

There is a knock at the door. Giles answers it to find Riley.

"Damn, Buffy, did you have to hit me so hard?" he asks.

"They didn't suspect you of anything, did they?" she asks grinning.

"Well, no." he reluctantly agrees. "That fire took out most of the
facilities, including all record of Willow."

"Well that's good." says the red head. "I don't like being kidnapped."

"I think you better leave town for a few days." councils Riley. "Forrest
might remember you. I think, though, that the Initiative is being
dissolved. The higher ups aren't happy with the lack of results. Or having
the place trashed."

"Thank you for your help, Riley." says Willow. She walks over and kisses
him on the cheek.

"Uhm, thanks." says Riley blushing slightly.

"Oz, we couldn't have done it without you." says Buffy gratefully. She and
Willow both kiss him.

"Well, Scooby Doobie Doo!" he laughs. "Seriously, I am glad I could help. I
should leave too. Can I give you a lift?"

"Los Angeles sounds good." says Willow. "We could visit Angel and
Cordelia."

"Great! I can see my Dad as well." enthuses Buffy.

Rileys cell phone rings. He answers and talks for a minute.

"Maybe you better leave now." he cautions. "Forrest doesn't believe me that
Willow isn't here. He is bringing a squad."

"Bye Giles. Tell Mom what happened, please." Buffy says on the way out.

They pile into Oz's van and drive off into the moonset.
