I have an answer that isn't on the list... could even be a fic challenge, if
someone feels ambitious....

Tara is like Whistler... a demon who works to balance the scales of good and
evil. Someone has decided that Willow is becoming too powerful and could be
too much of an asset to the slayer. The want her hindered and if all else
fails gone. Tara is here to accomplish that.

Buffy won't let that happen, she is going to fight for Willow, because she
couldn't go on without her.
