OT Rant on the L word

Ok I have had something on my mind for about a month and watching Xena this
Sunday I finally figured out what it was. Yes I am going to start a rant
with Xena and with any luck I will end with Buff. And Yes this is a rant.
Consider yourself warned.

As I was watching this really wacked out ep of Xena I noticed the sub text
was gone. No the are almost right out there. Lucifer, (told you it was
wacked) mentioned that Xena has a blond girlfriend. And it is clear he
doesn't mean best friend style girlfriend. And yet there Xena was lipped
locked with Lucifer. Ok so she was tricky him into taking over hell for her.
It was Xena just go along with me. The thing is, the show no longer sub
text, Gabby and Xena's relationship is out there yet almost every other ep,
Xena is locked lip with some guy. It's like the should have little lights go
on that say, and because we may be seen by the right or the left, her is our
heterosexual moment. And that is ok too. Straight people need good role
models as well. 

Sorry got lost from my point and I did have one when I started. So anyway in
the ep this week Lucifer and Xena are just about ready to kiss and do
whatever after the fighting stops when Gabby hits Xena up side the head with
her cloak. The message is clear, Xena, get dressed before I get anymore
jealousy. So the show had great text moments. So what. 

So were are the L words, like Love or Lesbian. Xena has kissed Gabrielle at
least everytime one of them dies. I that a theory about that. I see there
charters deaths as a medifore for orgasm. Everytime it was really good one
of them dies. Last year it was so good both of them died. At least when they
die they use the love word. Like it is only ok to say, I love you when your
dying in the show. 

Now onto Buffy. Willow may be out but no L words. Love or Lesbian or even Bi
(Yes I know it doesn't start with L so sue me) 

And another thing, (Rant remember) Have you noticed how hard Joss has bent
over backwards to say, Willow is bi. Dracula was sexy? Please. I had a crush
on Giles. The Jealousy look on Tara was priceless in the Dracula ep. Which
leads me back to Xena. 

Before I continue, I want to say in the real world bi is bi. Like gay or
straight. But I am not talking the real world. I am talking TV. 

And on TV in Xena land, it is like the show is say, see Xena is Bi she likes
men, nothing to look at here move along. As long as no one uses the L words
every thing is ok. Not that using the bi word would be any better received I
think. So Xena can kiss Lucifer on national TV, no big deal. And Xena can
kiss Gabrielle when one of them is dead or dying. No big deal. But never
ever ever use the l-word. 

And now I am worrying about Willow's shelf life on Buffy. Now that Willow
hinted at the L-word. (But it's ok, she had Oz. And thinks Giles and Dracula
are sexy so it must be ok. ) Because as soon as they kill Tara off, Willow
will either get herself killed off or go back to straight land. 

And now that the season is about a month old Willow has had less time on
screen then Spike. She has not really been that active and she has hardly
been on camera and I am wondering. Did she use the l-word on Letterman and
that means she must die. 

I miss Buffy Willow moments. I miss there fun talks. I miss Buffy hugs and
kisses. I miss the arm and arm walks. And I know it is because there was a
l-word used by someone and now there can only be Xena death moments. And
that was my rant for now.
