Hey, I'm jumping in here. Melissa, I think you're right. It's the same as in the episode when Dru called Darla, grandmother. There are those individuals that call will call their grandmom or granddad, mom and dad. It's all about how close you grew up with them. So, by the episode, it looks like the four, Darla, Angel, Dru, and Spike were close until Angel was given back his soul. So, Spike can call Angel sire and if he wants he can even call Darla sire, either way it's all in the family.
