Yet another fanfic challenge - 'How' Songfic

I've been thinking of doing a kinda weekly fic challenge accross
lists, see if anyone bites. Mail me off list with what you think
if you like.

This one occured to me whilst I was tidying my study and had
'Firecracker' by Lisa Loeb playing as backgrounmd music. I don't
normally like the concept of songfics but this one just affects
me (as does 'Firecracker' on the same CD for some reason).


As an aside I got into Lisa Loeb when I bought 'Firecracker' cos
I heard that she was one of Sarah Michelle Gellar's favourite
singers.

As many of you will probably be aware the song 'How' by Lisa Loeb
was used in the third season episode 'Homecoming' in the clothes
fluke scene. The challenge is to write a fic based on the song.

Timing : Anytime from the first ep to the latest ep shown in the
US, the only exception is the period from the start of Homecoming
to the start of Doppelgangland.

Couples : Any couple, canonical or non-canonical, so long as both
have appeared in the series by the time the fic is set, the only
exception is Willow/Xander.

Must include:

* A relationship hitting the rocks (NB for lists which centre
around a particular relationship (eg W/T, B/W, C/F) that
relationship should be mentioned but need not be the focal
relationship of the fic, it can be but doesn't have to be).
* A purple sweater.
* A radio, cassette or CD player.
* The song 'How' by Lisa Loeb.

Should include at least 2 of :

* A meal in a resteurant.
* A vamp being staked by someone who does not have any special
abilities (eg Slayer skills, Magic &c).
* Someone listening to a song by one of the following singers
Suzzanne Vega
Kate Bush
Stevie Nicks
Lisa Loeb (a song other than 'How')
* Someone underage (ie under 21) getting very very drunk and
passing out in a bar.
* A sports shoe being thrown.

I hope that that gives somone a few ideas.
