Basic Premise: What if The Scooby Gang were the bad guys?
Sometimes Wesley Windom-Price hated being a watcher. It wasn't the
research he hated, actually he quite liked it, it was the dealing with
children he hated. Wesley just didn't get them, especially the
American variety. They were just so weird.
Case and point - The Slayer, Harmony was supposed to be training but
instead she was at the mall with her boyfriend of the week. Harmony
was not suited to be a slayer. Whatever force of destiny had called
her must have been sloshed.
Faith on otherhand was suited to be a slayer and yet she was sitting
at the table doing research. Wesley shook his head and contemplated
destiny.
Faith was smart, very smart actually but had a low morality factor,
which concerned Wesley greatly. She was a good fighter, even better
then the slayer who was always concerned about breaking a nail, the
only thing she lacked was self-esteem. Her parents had all but
abandoned her. Wesley wondered if it was this god forsaken Hellmouth
town because Faith wasn't the only child whose parents didn't give a
damn about them.
"What exactly are we looking for Wes?" Faith asked.
"I'm not exactly sure myself. But if Harmony is to keep the Hellmouth
closed we need to know about whatever fun little games destiny is
going to play next."
Faith nodded and then looked toward the door which opened and three
people walked in. Oz, Angel and Miss Calendar walked directly to the
table Faith was sitting at and sat down.
"So what new evil are we researching today?" Angel asked.
Wesley smiled at the young man but it was Faith who spoke, "He doesn't
know."
"Well then I have band practice." Oz looked nervously around the
library.
"You just want to avoid Harmony." Miss Calendar smiled at her best
student, "But go ahead."
Oz smiled and then ran out of the library.
"He's kind of fidgety for a werewolf." Angel picked up a book and
opened it to a random page and began to read.
"He has every reason to be Angel." Miss Calendar sat down across from
him; "Harmony has been torturing him since they were children."
"She's been torturing me too." Faith paused, "And yet here I am
helping her fight the forces of evil. Rather Ironic actually."
"What is?" Wesley asked.
"That she IS the force of evil."
"I heard that." Harmony walked into the library but didn't notice
that everyone cringed, "And can I help it if your coolness is no
existent."
Wesley once again shook his head and cursed destiny for what it did to
him. He hated to admit it, even to himself, but a part of the watcher
hoped that whatever new evil came to town finally put an end to his
misery.
Faith was about to respond when someone appeared by the bookcase.
Wesley looked up and saw the vampire Spike. It was still daylight but
Spike wasn't smoldering at all, so Wesley figured that he had used one
of the drainpipes to enter the library.
"Hey fang what's up." Faith smiled.
Spike smiled at Faith. Wesley was the only one to notice. He had the
distinct and somewhat icky impression that Spike had a thing for
Faith.
"What is it soul boy?" Harmony said trying to sound mean.
Spike just ignored her; "We have a problem."
TBC.
