Woods Short-Fic: Hide and Seek

Title: Hide and Seek, or Where is the Bunny Slayer?

Summary: The Red Fox is looking for the Bunny Slayer, but where is she?
Rating: Personally I'd give this a 'G', but due to some nekkidness in the end,
maybe a 'PG'
Author's Notes: Just a real shorty, not much. Probably not gonna be longer than a page,
maybe 2 if it comes high. Oh, and I'm bending the facts I know a
little. A fox' sight isn't really *that* bad. They just have their
problems with further away animals that aren't moving.
Also, I'm screwing around with the Woods Outback rules. ;-)

Hide and Seek, or Where is the Bunny Slayer?


The red fox was trotting across one of the larger glades of the Woods Outback on her way to the
south lake. Faith had told her she'd find her bunny slayer here, but said bunny wasn't anywhere to
be found. She paced the clearing for the 8th time before she slumped onto the ground.
Willow was desperate. She could smell her slayer, she was sure that Buffy had to be here, her scent
was just screaming the presence of her, but she couldn't see her anywhere.

2000 feet higher

An eagle was circling the sky, looking for troublemakers, amazons on killing sprees, and newbies
that got too close to a certain redhead and were now being chased by one or both slayers. He was
keeping an eye on the "Save Poodle Boy" association, and making sure that no one of the "W/R
Forever" members came too near to the gutter. And he was intently watching the red fox run around
the Bribe clearing.

As he saw her sit down, rather hard, seemingly disgruntled about something, he decided to see what
was wrong. Maybe he could help.

* * * * * *

"Come on out Buffy! I know you are here!" the red fox shouted annoyed. She just knew that her friend
was here, and was playing with her.

"This is becoming boring", she continued to grumble as a bird landed just a few feet away from her
on a small rock. At a closer look, she recognized her friend and partner in crime in teasing her two
lovers, Quin.

"What's up red? You look a little sad."

"Hey Quin", she replied with a slight smile. "I'm supposed to find Buffy here, Faith told me she's
down here, but I can't see her anywhere", she sighed.

Quin turned around, looked at the bunny slayer, and smirked. She had quite a fire in her eyes,
obviously because of the interruption of her small game. The large bird turned back, and looked at
his friend. He decided that he had to help her, but not without having some fun on his own.

"Say Will, did you have biology in school?"

"Yeah, why?" she answered just a little bit confused.

"Well, did you talk about how animals see? I mean, what the sight is of the different animals?"

"Yeah", she continued excitedly. 'She always gets like this when we talk about school', Quin mused
with a small grin. "Did you know that bees see completely different colors than humans do?" she went
on.

"Yeah, I knew," the eagle spoke with a laugh, "but what I wanted to get to, was did you know how a
foxes sight is?"

"Ummm... yeah. They have eyes that are sharp, and can recognize movements easily, but are a little
dull to not moving objects. But, what does this have to do with Buffy?" she got back to the point.

"Well," he drew the word out, and smirked slightly, "first, you are a fox at the moment, with all
the advantages and disadvantages."

Willow was about the interject, but Quin continued before she could say anything.

"And secondly," his voice fell to a whisper, "and I bid you not to look around right now, but Buffy
is standing about ten feet behind you, not moving one muscle."

The eagle cast a glance towards the bunny slayer, and couldn't repress a chuckle as he saw her
disgruntled face. He knew what it meant. She had no idea what the two were plotting again, and she
just didn't like it.

Quin moved closer to his friend, and continued to whisper.

"Now, how about we get her for doing that with you? Try to get her to move, so that you can see
exactly where she is. What do you say?" The glint in his eye was mirrored by hers, and meant pure
mischief.

He explained her his plan, every now and then glancing over to the slayer, making sure she hadn't
moved yet. After a while he raised his voice again.

"Ok, well, I think it's agreed then", the eagle announced.

"Yeah. If Buffy doesn't want to come, it's her fault. Let's move. What do you say? First the sauna,
and then a bath in the south lake? Sound good?"

"Sure, I'm all yours."

With that, he placed his arm around the red fox, and they both began to walk off towards the slayers
private sauna complex. It took the bunny slayer exact 2 and a half seconds to move.

"Get. Your. Hands. Off. *MY*. Wills." she almost screamed as she leapt the few feet from her current
position to the couple. Oh yeah! She was extremely overpossessive of her

In a move that would rival her lovers, the red fox had turned, jumped, and pinned the blond to the
ground.

"Sooooo," she growled playfully, "you think you can just play with me like that?" She grinned and
licked the slayer's nose. "Well, I tell you-"

She was interrupted as Buffy tried to struggle free.

"Get OFF! I have to humiliate and maim that eagle!" She was clearly angry about their latest trick.

"You are going to do nothing alike Buffy", her mate disagreed, still not done with her.

"Willow", she clenched out between gritted teeth, "I love you, but he has gone too far this time."

She began to shift form, slowly taking human form. What she didn't seem to have considered though,
was that her lover could do just the same. Before she was able to throw her off, the redhead had
changed as well, still pinning her down.

Buffy looked up, and saw the glint of amusement in her hacker's eyes. She knew she had once again
lost against her friend in their game of teasing and tricking. She began to smile and ran her hand
up Willow's right side, ending up in the round of the redhead's neck. Pulling her down into a kiss,
she forgot about the presense that had not yet left the clearing.

A few feet away from the couple a clearly amused eagle stood and took in the picture of the two
humans, lying naked on the grass, enjoying each other and were just moments away from getting lost
in the moment, and if that happened, it would be too late to stop them. Not wanting to become a
target of the slayer for a second time that day, he proceeded to cough and get their attention
before they got too far with their 'fun'.

The two looked over, just a little irritated about the disturbance, and started to blush slightly.

The eagle couldn't resist the small grin that crept across his face. "I'll leave you two alone now.
Have fun. If I see Faith, I'll tell her where she can find you."

He turned around, and was just about start off as he heard his name called a last time.

"Quin?" Returning his look to his friends he got the most endearing smile. The one only Willow could
give someone. "Thank you, and", she paused shortly and looked down to the girl beneath her, " 'til
next time", she finished with a wink.

This earned her a swat from Buffy. "Ouch!" She looked down at her again. "What?!" was all she could
ask as she saw the look in her face.

Quin turned around again and started, flying up into the sky again. A last look showed the two down
there entangled in their usual kiss-and-grope fest that followed these arguments.

He returned his attention back to the gutter and the happenings in and around it. Just in time to
see another band of 'We Love Riley' members walking down the train street and straight into the
gutter.

"Shit! Can't they just leave me alone for once?"

He activated the radio set and called the HQ. "Security... coming. Here is SC Quin with a Code R. I
repeat, Code R. Coming down train street heading towards sector 5."

The headquaters repeated the information to confirm it. "Ok, send teams 8 and 14, they should be
free right now, AP (action plan) T3. Once they reach the bridge we should be rid of them."

He sighed. Just another day on the job.

I hope you enjoyed my first excursion into the Woods Outback. As I told you, there would be some
twisting of the rules, but I just couldn't resist having naked Buffy and Willow making out in there
;-)

And I really hope that this at least broke my block a little.
