At the end of my latest installment, I introduced Feyth Jade(I wonder who she could be? ;-) ) The name Jade comes from the character of Mara Jade, who is probably the most popular character in the Star Wars Universe to never appear in the movies. Mara Jade debuted in the Star Wars Novel "Heir to the Empire", by Timothy Zahn, and has become a regular fixture of the novels ever since.

First, she was an assasin, under the personal command of Emperor Palpatine. Known as the "Emperor's Hand", she was sent by the Emperor to kill Luke Skywalker when he tried to rescue Han Solo from Jabba the Hutt. She disguised herself as one of Jabba's slave girls, and got close to Luke at one point, but after the fracas at the Sarlacc pit, she lost her opportunity. The Emperor wasn't thrilled to hear that, and demanded that she fulfill her mission and kill Luke. Shortly after that, he was killed by Darth Vader, and Mara's status as the Emperor's Hand went up in smoke.

Blaming Luke for the loss of her lavish lifestyle, she sought revenge, but ended up joining him on his quest to stop the charismatic Imperial Admiral Thrawn from rebuilding the Imperial Fleet and attacking the New Republic. Over the course of her adventures with Luke, she grew to admire him, even like him a little. Recently, in the novel "Vision of the Future", Mara agreed to marry the farmboy. She's still a vital part of the Star Wars Universe, a tough, sensetive and whip-smart red-head, who may also become a powerful Jedi Knight if Luke can successfully train her in her powers. 

In my story, I chose to indicate that Feyth Jade is an ancestor of Mara Jade. Whether she will choose to join the side of the right, or travel down the Dark Side, well, that would be telling.
