posting board outrage

MAYBE A SPOILER? I DONT THINK SO, BUT JUST IN CASE U HAVEN'T SEEN TRAINGLE

Ok guys, I am delurking to rant. I often go onto the buffy posting boards after an episode, sometimes to post, sometimes to just hang out and see what's said. I got on after "Triangle", to express my excitment over the "hello...gay now" statement. To my dismay, I saw countless "why is willow gay? please make her straight!" comments. It upset, simply for the fact that while everyone has a right to their own opinion, I don't believe that those feelings should be expressed in a rather STUPID manner that could have hurt feelings. I'm the first to admit, I was not at all happy with the Tara development, simply because the thought of willow being gay had never crossed my mind. I was still mourning over Oz's departure. At first, I was a bit shocked, and even indignant. I thought if anyone was going to be gay, it would be buffy. But that's just me and back to the point..... I was upset because I figured not only are they never going to go any further than to hint at this, but Aly will no longer get any screen time. However as I watched the relationship devlop, I did become a fan of Willow as a lesbian. Not only does she seem more confident but over all she seems more independant. More grown up. She has a life outside of her regular circle of friends. Which is why it upsets me that so many people get upset because homosexuality is not "the norm" I'm not asking for a posting board revolution, I just wanted to see if anyone had noticed it, and was also upset, or get some feedback on the subject.
