Epilog(ue)

It was still a warm afternoon as Buffy, Willow, and Giles tumbled out of thin air into the middle of Giles' lounge. The empty packing from the book with which Ethan had started the whole series of episodes still lay on the carpet and the book itself .

As they watched, Scriptator's book shimmered and faded away into nothingness.

"A pity," Giles said, taking off his glasses and polishing them with the end of his tie. "There was a lot I could have learned from studying that book - oh," he went on, "not the contents: the book itself: the type of paper, the ink, the . "

Buffy tuned him out as she went to the kitchen. For one thing it wouldn't be long before Giles wanted a cup of tea, and for another, she had a craving for some of those ginger biscuits Giles imported specially: a whole packet in fact, if she could just find out where he'd hidden the latest consignment.

She was just getting frustrated, and wondering how she could get Willow back interested in their game, without letting on to Giles that that was her intention, when Willow herself put her head round the door of the kitchen.

"Buff - Giles had to go out - "

"Oh ?" This had possibilities, Buffy thought to herself, but would she have long enough to get Willow interested and then to get far enough to make it worthwhile.

"Yes - he said that if Ethan was gone, he wanted to check out a shop on thefar side of town, out toward the warehouses. I think he thinks that Ethanmay have had a stash over there."

"Oh - ought we to have gone, too ?" Buffy leaned back on her heels, her ginger biscuit craving apparently fated to be unassuaged.

"We could have," Willow said, "I asked, but he said he wanted the exercise."

The way she said it, and the way she ducked back into the lounge, perked Buffy's attention: something was going on. She went back, to find Willow unfastening her magick bag.

She pulled something out

"Only I seem - accidentally, of course - to have kept hold of this."

She held out a book - or, rather, held it just beyond Buffy's reach.

"And I wondered whether we shouldn't just study it a bit before I tell Giles I still have it."

Then she went flying as Buffy pounced on her (and the book).

"Let me guess - the book on sex magic - now, where is the biggest and most comfortable bed we know of ?"

"How about, where's the nearest ?" Willow teased.

And, as she cuddled and caressed Willow as they headed for Giles' spare room, she considered the fact that being the Slayer did have its warm snuggly advantages. And, if anyone said anything, she would just tell them it was her duty to keep her muscles healthily exercised, and that Willow was meticulous in checking that she did.

Finis.
