FIC: Is This Really Happening?

Hi all!

DISCLAIMERS: Buffy's not mine. (She's Willow's. At least in this
story.)
NOTES: [ ] indicates thinking, " " indicates speaking.
RECAP: Buffy finally founf out about Tara and Wills!!

Willow hummed as she walked back to her dorm room, glad to be
through with the whole 'Tara situation'. [Now I can go to the dorm
and see Buffy!] With that thought the red head walked a little bit
faster. Willow opened the door to the dorm, expecting to see Buffy,
but the lights were off.
"I wonder where she could be?" Willow flipped the light switch.

CRUNCH!

Willow looked down and saw the picture of Buffy and herself.
[What happened?] Willow took a quick look throught the room and saw
the object of her desire curled up in a ball.
"Buffy!" The red head moved towards the blonde.
"Stop!" Willow stopped.
"Are you all right? What happened Buffy? Is it a demon? Should I
get Giles?" Buffy looked up, her eyes rimmed red from hours of crying.
"How could you?" Willow felt the color drain from her face.
"What do you-" [The picture. Nothing else in the room is trashed.
That only means one thing.]
"Buffy I'm sorry."
"How could you?!" Buffy started to cry again.
"Buffy-"
"I asked you! You said you kissed, that that had been all that
happened." Buffy stood up, her hands clenched at her sides. Willow
reached for her, but the slayer threw her hand off.
"I tried to..."
"To what? To keep me from finding out! I never thought that you
would lie to me." Buffy walked over to her bed and sat down. "And you
know what? You lying to me isn't even the worst part. The worst part
is that now I have a memory of it. All I can hear is your voice."
Buffy looked up at Willow, staring into her eyes. "I just keep
hearing it over, and over. 'Look Tara, yes, okay we did sleep
together.'" Willow winced as Buffy's gaze cut through her along with
the words. "I wish I hadn't...Wills..."
"Buffy, please listen to me. Please." The blonde didn't say
anything, just stared at the wall blankly, tears streaming silently
down her face. Willow took that as a sign to continue.
"We were doing a spell, and we got carried away by the magic. I
know how bad that sounds, but Buffy you don't know how much I regret
that night." Willow sighed, her arms tightening around herself,
trying to ward off the sense of doom. The room became deafening with
the silence, silence that seemed to stretch into eternity.
"I had gotten the night off from patrol." The words spoken so
softly, that when they left the slayer's mouth and reached the red
head's ears Willow jumped at the sudden noise. "I was going to
surprise you, movies, serious quality time, I was even thinking about
telling you how I felt." Willow sat down on her own bed, watching
Buffy. "But you were doing a spell with Tara. Can you believe it!
That very night I was going to tell you everything, you and she!"
"Buffy-"
"Willow, just... stop. Don't lie to me." Willow started to open
her mouth. "Please! Just leave!" The words hastened the wicca to the
door. [I can't believe she won't even try to work it out!] Tears
rushed the red head's eyes. She turned back around, one last attempt
to save her relationship. "Go!" Willow opened the door and left. [Oh
my god! What have I done?! I didn't think she would actually leave!]
Buffy's silent tears now turned into all consuming sobs that racked
her body. [What have I done?!]

(Scroll down if you want to read the end of this part.)

The door shut, and Willow let her head fall dejectedly against it.
[She's crying because of me. She's in pain because of my actions.]
Her thoughts were interrupted as the crying from inside her dorm room
intensified, leaving no doubt to the extent of the blonde's pain.
Willow opened the door back up.
"Buffy, I'm not going to leave youo alone! Not now, not ever. I
made you a promise!"
"Wills!" Willow rushed over to Buffy, huggin the blonde,
craddling her love.
"I'm so sorry, Buffy. So sorry. It was just that once. Please,
please forgive me.' Willow started crying, her thoughts only of how
much she had hurt Buffy. "I would never hurt you on purpose. Please
Buffy, I need you." [God how I need her.] Buffy wrapped her arms
Willow.
"When you walked out just then, I couldn't believe it, that you
had just left. It doesn't matter about Tara. The only thing that
matters is that you came back. I can't live without you." Willow
wiped the tears from Buffy's face.
"I promised you always, and I meant it."

Hope you enjoyed. Next part coming soon.
