Folks, I can't tell you how much statements like this bother me. I have 
been actively reading online fanfic from one fandom or another since 1996, 
and I have to emphatically state that while I *have* read stories posted by 
authors who would hack something out at 3 AM and send it off without even a 
cursory proofreading, that hasn't been my experience here in the Buffy 
fandom. Every story I have had the pleasure of reading has been well above 
par (and that's a bar I've raised steadily over the years). Does that mean 
that there won't be the occasional grammar or spelling issue? No. I expect 
them. To the best of my knowledge, none of us has the benefit of having a 
professional editor/proofreader at their beck and call.

What I have found is that the stories are (almost to a one, and that's 
going somewhere for the PWP type) have been internally consistent, and 
stayed true to their own premise. Anne? I have no idea who may have 
written you stating that your stories "sucked", but I have to wonder how 
many stories they have written and posted? All of the bards here are doing 
something that most people don't have the guts to do, taking a piece of 
themselves, draping a little BTVS over it, and putting it on display to the 
world. And in some cases we haven't even had the BTVS camo.

And I, for one, feel honored that I'm included in the company that they 
choose to share themselves with. So keep writing for as long as you wish 
or feel the need to. Ultimately, the only one you have to please with your 
ART is yourself. The rest of us are just along for the ride.
