Trinity's Child 16/?

"Uncle Spike!" Jenny called out as the blonde vamp entered the hotel
room. She enveloped him in a big teary hug. Awkwardly he put his hands around
Jenny and smoothed her hair. Her delicate neck just inches from his mouth,
the blood lust rose. But a much more powerful force slapped it down. It
always did when it came to her. It was both truly frightening and wonderful
at the same time. He had never thought too deeply on the matter. This child.
The child of the Slayer and her friends, the people he had tried to kill for
years and vice versa. He loved this child as his own. If the Watchers so much
as touched her, he would die killing them. Chip or no chip. Spike let go of
the red head and looked at the others in the room.
Paul nodded to the vamp, acknowledging him. The two women that had
been sent with him entered the room. Tanya and Taryn. Totally fit, totally
gorgeous, totally in love, totally professional. Spike had seen them work and
was impressed by their cold hard attitude to killing. Identify the threat,
kill the threat, move on. He would dearly love to sire these two. Together
they would bathe the world in blood.
He checked out the two Asian kids that were standing on the other side
of the room. If looks could kill, he would be a big pile of dust. He thought
it better to make things clear and avoid waking up staked.
"Relax. I'm on your side. Well, not really, I'm on her side." Spike
said gesturing toward Jenny. "If you're on her side, you're fine. If your
not, you're lunch." Spike threatened Li and Tran. Spikes idea was to install
a measure of healthy fear and respect into the two. It didn't work.
"Really?" Tram asked sarcastically. "Could you remind me just when to
be scared? I'm afraid I might forget, some of us don't have chips in our
heads." Spike looked at Jenny in dismay.
"Have you told every person in this country about my bleeding chip?"
Spike asked her in exasperation. Jenny smiled a little.
"Sorry, we haven't got blood for you but there's beer." Jenny
suggested, pointing to the fridge. She knew Spike would be in a better mood
with a couple of beers. In a huff Spike grabbed a beer and sat down. Paul
looked to Spike.
"OK, now what?" asked Paul. Spike waved his beer dismissively.
"Don't ask me. I'm just here to kill demons. Zena and Gabriel over
there are running this show." pointing his half empty beer at the two women.
Taryn and Tanya ignored the jibe.
"First of all, you'll have to book out of here. We need to find a
place low key." Tanya told them.
"We would welcome you into our home. Even the evil undead demon." Li
said.
"And don't you forget it." Spike said with a smile, happy that someone
still remembered that fact, and downed the rest of the beer.
"We can't do that. I don't want to put you in any danger." Jenny told
Li.
"Tran and I have dedicated our lives to fighting evil. Our lives are
in danger all the time. Any extra danger is nothing compared to being able to
help others who fight the dark ones. It is the least we can do."
"You're our friends. We can't ask you to involve yourselves." Paul
said. Tran smiled.
"We would be offended if you will not let us help you." Paul and Jenny
looked at each other, Paul searching for some way to refuse the offer. A
slight nod from Jenny, and Paul turned back to his friends.
"OK. We'll pack." Paul said.

She sat by Giles bed unmoving. For two days she had sat there watching
over the old man. She hadn't eaten, hadn't slept, hadn't moved from her
chair. But that wasn't the thing that frightened Willow the most. It was the
lack of feeling from Buffy.
For 17 years Willow could feel Buffy in her mind. Happy or sad, angry
or peaceful, she could sense Buffy and Xander. She could sense their very
being. It gave her comfort in the darkest of hours. But of Buffy she could
sense nothing. Like a black hole, Buffy could only be detected by complete
absence of anything.
Xander came in with a coke for Willow. Gently kissing her forehead,
Xander flopped down on the chair beside the two women. Willow felt Xander's
worry. Even without the link she had to her soulmate, the worry lines that
marred his young face told the story of his fear. He too couldn't feel Buffy.
All they could do was be there for her, hopefully part of Buffy could take
comfort that she was not alone.
"The Monday meeting has been put back until Friday. They didn't want
it before the funeral. I guess they hope that Buffy will be OK enough to take
part. Billy is organising the funeral for us." Xander told Willow. Barely
nodding, Willow sipped her coke and worried. What happens if Buffy is never
OK?

Xander jolted awake. Something was happening. He saw Willow sitting up
and looking around. It took a moment for their sleep addled minds to figure
out what was going on. They felt something. Buffy.
Quickly they went over to her and saw what had happened. From his bed,
Giles was looking at Buffy with tired eyes. Slowly Buffy got up and hugged
him. Together, father and daughter wept.

Jenny was getting cabin fever. She paced back and forth in agitation.
"Damn it! I'm going crazy being cooped up and not doing anything. We
should be out doing something." Jenny grumbled.
"Love, sit down. There's a Wes Craven move feast on in ten minutes. It
should be a barrel of laughs." Spike said taking a slurp from his mug of
blood. He had made himself comfortable on Li's couch in front of the TV.
"No! I'm sick of watching TV. We should be doing, well, I don't know.
Something. Anything."
"What would you have us do? Go patrolling?" Paul asked.
"Yes!" said Jenny.
"No!" Paul insisted.
"Hang about sport. I'm liking her idea here." Spike said, sitting up
and eager at the prospect of violence.
"You're not going anywhere." Paul told Jenny.
"Don't tell me what to do!" Jenny yelled at him. Tanya moved from her
spot by the door.
"Jenny, you need to keep a low profile. You can't do that if you're
patrolling. I recommend you stay here." Tanya said reasonably. Jenny would
have none of it.
"Look, I'm going patrolling. You're either with me or not." she
insisted grabbing her jacket and Tak horn.
"I'm with ya." Spike said as he got up to put on his 'battle arm'.
Paul looked on frustrated. He knew the only way he could stop her from going
was to knock her out. But he couldn't do it.
"Alright, alright, I'll go. But only to keep your sorry ass safe."
Paul grumped and went to the weapons rack. Li and Tran who had been silent
during the argument joined Paul in getting weapons.
Taryn and Tanya looked at each other in resignation. Their job was to
keep Jenny safe, no matter what stupidity she got up to. She was head strong,
like her parents. With a shrug they checked their weapons.
"OK people, lets go hunting." Jenny said.
