FIC: Is This Really Happening?

Buffy closed the door, silently wondering what was up with Willow. 
The redhead laid down on the bed, trying to ease the pain in her head.
[They always do this! Why can't they even remember!?] Buffy went over 
to Willow amd laid down, enveloping the quiet girl with her arms.
"What's the matter?"
"Oh, you know the usual. Have great friends, nice place to spend the 
holidays, a fabulous, sexy, nice, loving, gentle girlfriend. My 
parents are going out of town today and will be gone for four weeks."
"Awww. That's so- wait. Wills I'm sorry."
"It's okay. I guess I should be used to it by now, I mean, they 
either ignore me or go away. Why should this year be any different?" 
Buffy kissed Willow's shoulder, slowly making her way up the 
redhead's neck.
"It'll be alright. You've got Xander, Giles, and Anya- did I just say 
you have Anya for support?" Buffy shook her head trying to clear the 
image of Anya trying to help anyone. "Anyway, all our friends and me, 
for the holidays."
"I just thought that we might all be able to get along. Maybe tell 
them about us. I was hoping we could at least have some parental 
support." Buffy tightened her hold on Willow at the mention of her 
mother. "I'm sorry Buffy! I didn't, I-"
"Hey she made her choice and I made mine." Buffy smiled. "And 
personally I think I got the better part of the deal, you know I got 
the beautiful girlfriend, that's a big plus. We'll just be on 
parentless. Besides all I need is you."
"Me too. I mean, I mean that I need you, not that I need me, but 
that-"
"I love you Wills." The redhead grinned.
"Love you too."



Buffy dragged Xander out of the department store. "Buff. I think that 
maybe you should slow down. You know, keep it under a 100 miles." 
Xander grimaced as he saw what he hoped was just five stores zip by 
them in two seconds. Buffy stopped and turned around, glaring. 
"What do you mean slow down?! I have been looking for her gift since 
exams were over, and I STILL hacven't found anything!"
"My bad. Didn't know. Just what are we looking for?" Buffy sat down 
on a nearby bench. 
"I don;t know. She's just everything to me, and I can't think of 
anything that is good enough for her."
"I had the same problem with Anya's gift." Xander sat down besides 
Buffy. 
"So what did you end up getting her?"
"A magic book." Buffy looked incredulously at Xander. "What? Quit 
looking at me like that! Maybe it's not the best gift, but at least 
she'll know I tried."
"I'm not going to say I told you so when she casts a spell on you."
"Buffy, she would never- Oh my god! What have I done!"



"So do you think you can help me?" Anya smiled at the redhead.
"I think so, but why don't you just give Buffy the first 
gift?" "Because I bought the first gift when we were friends!"
"Oh."
"So what's a good gift for your girlfriend?" 
"Well is this for Christams or Channuka?" "Christmas. Giles set up 
the Channuka list."
"That's a hard one. I had big business this time of the year. Men who 
forgot it all together, adn those who just had really bad taste-"
"Anya!"
"Sheez. I'll help you. Just don't do the loudness thing again."



Buffy walked around the cemetary, thinking about the present she 
should get Willow. [What about a necklace? There are endless 
possibilities.]
CRUNCH!
Buffy spun around, kicking the legs out from under the stranger.
"Ugh! Buffy!"
"Willow! I'm so sorry!" Buffy pulled Willow up to her feet. 
"It's alright, I now know never to sneak up on my slayer." Buffy 
smiled and kissed her
"You are so cute!" 
"Awwww. look at the love birds!"
"Why?"
"Anya, honey, nevermind." Buffy smiled at Xander.
"So, what's the up?"
"Nothin. Just thought we would check on you."
"Xander! I thought you said we were going to the movies!" Xander 
blushed. 
"Hush Anya." He turned toward his best friends. "Was worried. I still 
get points for it." Willow laughed.
"Ofcourse you do. Now go to the movies."
"Cool. See ya later."
"Bye Xander, Anya."
Buffy held Willow's hand and they walked on. 
"Hey Buffy?"
"What Wills?"
"I was wondering-"
"Willow be quiet!" Buffy grabbed Mr. Pointy, baring him for Willow to 
see.
"Oh. Okay." Willow whispered.
"I know you're out there. Come out!" Six vampires walked towards them.
"Well its no fun when you end the game so fast." Buffy stepped in 
front of Willow, effectively blocking her beloved from the vamps.
"I bet it sucks just about as much as you do." Buffy lunged at the 
closest vampire, tackling him and letting him meet Mr.Pointy. Buffy 
then sweeped two near her, and proceeded to punch each with her 
fists. Willow watched in fear as Buffy fought. [Please let her be 
safe!] The lead vampire looked on with fear as Buffy dusted the two 
vamps.
"Impressive, but what about me?"
"What about you?" Buffy got up, brushing her hair out of her face.
"Well, either you fight me or you save her." The vampire pointed to 
where Willow was. Buffy spun around and saw the person she loved more 
than life, in the hands of a vamp.
"Willow!"



Joyce walked through the cemetary, searching. (Okay not the brightest 
idea) [I can't believe what Mr. Giles said!] Joyce continued walking, 
needing to know if Giles had been right.



The vampire laughed as Buffy's face paled. [Oh no! What an I going to 
do? I'llnever make it over there in time!] Buffy looked at Willow, 
the vamps teeth at the pale neck. 
"Buffy go!" The blonde turned back toward the vamp.
"What about a trade?"
"What kind of trade?"
"Me for her." The vampire's gaze switched to Willow who was 
struggling to get free.
"Why should I?"
"Do you know how high your reputation will be when other deomns find 
out that the slayer surrender?" Willow's eyes widened.
"Buffy! No!" The redhead started to struggle harder. 
"Alright." He moved to grab Buffy, but the blonde moved out of the 
way.
"Wait. Let me say goodbye." 
"Okay." Buffy walked over to Willow, who ran towards her.
"You can't do this!" Willow felt herself being crushed, but in a good 
way. 
"I have to." Both girls were crying, clutching the other desperately.
"I know we just got together, but I want you to know that I have 
never been so happy as I have been with you these last two weeks."
"You can't do this your the Slayer! People need you. I need you 
Buffy!" The blonde pulled back from the hug.
"I love you."
"Don't do this!" Buffy leaned in and kissed Willow with all the 
passion she could muster.
"Love you."
"Buffy! I love you too!"



Joyce heard her daughter's voice and hurried over. [Buffy's giving 
herself up?! Whu would she?] Then Joyce heard another voice. "Buffy! 
No!" Joyce looked on as Buffy made the deal with the vampire. [Why is 
she?] Buffy walked over to Willow. She watched as her daughter said 
goodbye to Willow. Joyce saw something out of the corner of ther eye, 
the vamp. "No!" All heads turned as Joyce ran out from the bushes. 
"Mom?"
"Buffy behind you!" Buffy turned adn kicked the vamp. Buffy jumped on 
him nad began punching the vampire with all her strength.
"You bastard! You were going to hurt my Wills!" Punch. "Big mistake." 
Punch. Buffy got up and shoved her stale into the vamp. "Dustbuster 
filler now." Buffy glanced around, noting the remaining vamp ran off. 
Willow ran and grabbed Buffy, pulling her into a passionate kiss.
"See there are rewards for prtecting the innocent Wills!" The girls 
laughed until they saw Joyce.
"Buffy can we talk?"
"Yeah. Go ahead." Joyce knew the look on Buffy's face and knew she 
would have to apologize in front of Willow.
"I want to say I am sorry. It was wrong of me to treat you so badly. 
I know I don't deserve it, but will you forgive me?" Buffy stood 
still, quietly thinking.
"I heard you, and I saw and felt your feelings for Willow." Buffy's 
eyes filled with tears, and she turned form her mom, trying to hide 
it. "I don't know if I can. You hurt me so much, I just don't know."
