Challenge; That little nothing...
'kay, gang, the fanfic's been getting quiet lately. And as a result, I feel compelled to issue a challenge to my fellow bards. This one should appeal to the angst fic writers. Here it is;
"That Little Nothing"
Story must be told from Buffy's POV.
It is fifteen to twenty years into the future and Buffy and Willow have been together for several years. But Willow's been suffering from strange pains that she can't understand. After a regular check-up, she informs Buffy that the doctor wants to give her a full biopsy. Willow tries to assure Buffy that it's nothing to worry about.
Buffy then flashbacks to her sophomore year, when her mother said to Buffy,"That little nothing I was suffering from, it turns out to be something." Buffy now fears losing Willow the way she lost her mother. Is Willow suffering from something serious? Will she have a better chance at survival, given advancing medical technologies? Or will it turn out to be a small ulcer? How will Buffy cope with Willow, and with her fears of losing another loved one too soon?
The gauntlet is thrown down. Who shall pick it up?

"God does not play dice with the universe; He plays an ineffible game of His own devising, which might be compared, from the perspective of all the other players(ie., everybody), to being involved in an obscure and complex version of poker in a pitch-dark room, with blank cards, for infinite stakes,with a Dealer who won't tell you the rules and who smiles all the time."
--Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett
