SUMMARY: Sequel to Terra Australis Incognito. 17 years on Buffy, Xander, Willow and their child must face very different evils to save the world (again).

?I really think you should reconsider.? Charles told the Chief Watcher.The High Council were holed up near the Canadian-US boarder.

?As the head of this Council, I make the decisions regarding its course of action.? The Chief Watcher told Charles.

?But what you are proposing, it has too much potential to go wrong. We?re meddling with forces too dark and dangerous. If this goes wrong??

?Nothing will go wrong! I will have everything under complete control. I know what I?m doing.? The Chief Watcher barked at the younger man.

?Do we really need to go to such extremes?? Charles asked, worried.

?You know the prophecy as well as I. There will come a time when a Slayershall stand the test of time. As the years pass she shall grow in power until such time as she shall have power greater than any Master vampire.?

?But it doesn?t mean that she will become dark or a Master Vampire. Only that she becomes powerful.?

?For centuries we have ensured that no Slayer has become too powerful forus to control. Now our control is slipping and she is getting to be too powerful. We need to stop her.?

?But she is part of Trinity! We cannot interfere with that which the Powers That Be have decreed to be. They are??

?The Alpha and the Omega. The beginning and the end. They mark the beginning of the end. The Omega time. They can either save the world or condemn it to hell. We cannot take that risk.? The Chief Watcher looked about. ?Mister Davidson!? The new head of the Watchers Black Ops teams entered the room.

?Yes sir.? The fit young man said.

?I want yourself and four of your best men to accompany me. The others will stay here and guard the rest of the High Council.? The Chief Watcher ordered and watched the young man depart.

?Don?t worry Charles. Once this is over, we will rebuild the Council toits former glory.?


?So, how much longer to this place?? Jenny asked the pilot as they flewtowards the old Chinese airbase.

?About 20 minutes.? The pilot said over the intercom.

?What about radiation?? Tran asked the pilot. Paul answered for him.

?It?s been a few years since the war, so most of the radiation would have returned to safe levels. Besides, the base looks to be out of the areas that received major fallout. The few hours we?ll probably be there won?t hurt. The dose will be less than a X-ray.? Paul said, studying the map.Since his fathers death he had been studying the war and the events surrounding it.

?So what are we looking for when we get there?? Jenny asked her love.

?A lab of some description. It would have to be of some sophistication tobuild our Super Demon. We land and have a look round.?


The gang wandered around the old airfield in the moonlight. There was signsof damage caused by the war, a few shattered fighters lay on the tarmac, but by and large there was little damage to the collection of buildings thatthey now walked to.

They entered a hangar and looked around. There were various object laying around the hangar, some on trolleys next to abandoned aircraft. Li went up to one such object.

?Look at this.? She said pointing to unusual protrusions on an object that looked like a bomb. Tanya looked over it for a moment.

?Fuel-air bomb.? She announced.

?A what?? asked Tran.

?It?s a special bomb that releases a highly volatile fuel and ignites it. The fireball vaporises everything for a couple of hundred feet and flattens buildings for about a mile. They?re as close as a nuke as you can get.?

?Could the Sisterhood use this to wipe out the world?? Jenny asked her.

?No. While these are powerful, they?re not that powerful. Bigger nukes were used during the war. No, the Sisterhood wouldn?t be interested in this stuff.? Tanya said dismissively. A moody Spike spoke up.

?Well, let?s go find something the bloody Sisterhood of Jhe would be interested in.? He snapped. The gang exited the hangar and looked around atsome of the other buildings. At one of the buildings they saw one of the Sisterhood enter.

?I say we follow that demon.? Jenny suggested. Carefully they entered the building.

They came across a pair of demons who were quickly dispatched. Looking around they saw a well-equipped lab. Paul sat down in front of a computer and started searching through files. The others wandered around looking at various equipment. Jenny was about to open a heavy looking door.

?Holy shit. HOLY SHIT!? Paul yelled. Everyone rushed over.

?What is it?? Taryn asked.

?Skimming through these files, it looks like we were wrong.?

?They?re not making a super demon?? asked Li.

?Worse.? Paul said, fear evident in his voice.

?Worse?? Tran said, disbelieving.

?Much, much worse. The DNA manipulation isn?t for making a super demon.They were altering strains of smallpox, Ebola, plague, all sorts of stuff.They combined them into one, well, I guess you?d have to call it a??

?Super Virus. A doomsday virus.? A voice said from behind them. They all turned.

It was the sickly man from the preceding night.


They slept as the aircraft winged his way toward Canada. They also dreamed.


Buffy and Willow walked through a graveyard. It was a beautiful day and theair was fresh and clear. They walked up to a figure that sat on a tombstone. It was Faith.

?Hey B, Red.?

?Faith.? Buffy said quietly. ?What are you doing??

?Hanging around. Not much to do once you?re dead, you know.?

?Cut the funnies. What are you up to??

?Watching your boy over there.? Faith said, pointing over to Xander whostood over a grave in the distance.

?Why?? Willow asked the dead Slayer.

?A couple of reasons. He?s a cutie, which you already know. Another is to give you guys a clue about the man. He?s gonna be big in the final battle.?

?Final battle?? asked Buffy.

?The Omega Time. Winter is coming and The Twelve will be waiting for you.You got to give up everything to fight them. Got to give up everything.?

?Why??

?You?ll find out. But first of all you?ll have to save him.?

?From what??

?The ghost of Christmas past.? said Faith and walked away. Buffy and Willow went over to Xander.

?What you doing?? Buffy asked as she slipped her arms around him.

?Didn?t get to visit the parents. May as well do it in weirdo dreamland.? Buffy looked down at the grave of his parents.

?You want to go?? Willow asked.

?Yeah.? He said as they headed off. As they walked the land changed. Itwas now the place that Xander had first seen in his visit to the Dreamtime.

David McWray sat by the water, throwing stones into the clear water, watching the ripples spread across the water.

?David.? Buffy said, she and the other two sitting down beside him.

?Winter is coming. Got to get ready for the hibernation. Can?t face TheTwelve without a nice long sleep?

?What?? Xander asked his friend.

?Look.? David said and pointed to the water.

A stone splashed into the water, and as the ripples spread, a vision appeared. A castle. A castle surrounded by a snowy forest. There was a feeling ofgreat cold. A feeling of a great distance in time. A feeling of evil.

They could sense it. This was the place. The place of the final battle. In that castle they would face The Twelve. They would find their destiny. Slowly the image faded.

?Always remember that of all the forces in the world, the most powerful is love. You can be saviours, or destroyers. The choice is yours.? David told them. He stood up.

?Finish your work here. But take care not to raise the ghosts of a past best forgotten. Deep in your hearts, you will know what to do.? David started to walk away. He paused for a moment and turned to them.
