The First, Snippet.

A funny thing about history... Give it enough time for diffusion 
and reinterpretation, and all those little stories that beggar belief 
will be swept under the carpet of folklore.
Some say that I'm old, and I guess you could say this is true. Yet 
none really know my age, not even me. My story began long ago, and 
has been told before. Although my tale has long since become one with 
myth, superstition and religion.
I was born a mortal as, I suppose, were all of our ilk. Even so, I 
was burn unto a world unlike any which you have known, or will ever 
know or yet imagine. Evil was a word unknown to our people, and sin a 
phrase unspoken. We lived in a form of happiness within the Vale, and 
there we flourished within its tender embrace.
Yet things change. Always, things change.
"Where is your brother?" My God had asked of me, and how else could 
I have answered? I was an innocent, naive. Yet for my sins I was 
punished as God, in His infinite wisdom, placed upon me His mantle. 
In His wrath was it ordained that my torment would be forever, in His 
anger He made of me a vampire. 
The first; forever doomed, forever craving that taste for blood 
which had begun my fall from grace. My burden and curse, my original 
sin.
I had discovered murder and deceit.
I was never again to hear the Voice of my God, nor was I ever again 
to look upon His shining countenance. For mortals of today, this is 
an agony they cannot comprehend. He banished me forever from His 
sight, and were I to venture forth from the shadows, I would feel His 
wrath upon me.
I walked in darkness and hid from daylight, alone and lonely, 
Reviled. I learned to hate His image, His symbolism. I learned to 
hate Him, and in this I was not alone; for thus did I become an easy 
partner for the Accuser, and together we became the patriarchs of 
Evil.
