Re: FIC: Three Years in Hell, A Lifetime of Pain/ Research Questions

(I'm doing this in HTML as a test, for when I post my own fics. If it comes out badly, well, OOPS!! )

Bill, nice start to the fic. Good establishing of MarineBuffy, and the fact that she's flying to Chicago, not Sunnydale, keys us that things are very different.

One thing, though: Is there ever any on-air mention of Buffy as "Elizabeth" ? I know it's a popular fanfic concept that "Buffy" is a diminuitive, but if her real name were "Elizabeth Anne Summers", wouldn't the tombstone in "The Gift" say that (or possibly just "Buffy Summers") rather than "Buffy Anne Summers", as it does?

I tend to think that "Buffy Anne Summers" is our Slayer's full legal name. Opinions, anyone?

Let me change colors as I go OT for a Research Question for my own upcoming fics:

Is there any indication that anyone, other than Jenny and her uncle, knew the full details of Angel's curse prior to "Innocence", i.e. one moment of happiness=hello, Angelus and major carnage? I'm looking for either positive citations (for example, if Angelus said "My weak self knew what would happen, yet he gave in!") or negative ones (if, say, Giles said "I didn't know. I'm a Watcher. I should have known.") Anything at all, as otherwise I'm going to have to re-read everything from "Angel" to "Becoming, Part II" (which I may do anyway).

Also, how long is it between "Revelations" (which takes place two days before the kids take the SATs) and "Lovers Walk" (which opens with them receiving their scores)? I've forgotten how long the scoring (which is done at some centralized facility, not the local High School) takes. A week? A month? It's fairly crucial.

Let me thank you all in advance for what will be very important help.

Dan

"Well, that explains a lot of things I wish weren't explained." --Riley, on that same Buffy/Angel info ("The Yoko Factor")
