Merrick.

Hooboy!

Merrick's Buffy's real father.

Alex, I love ya like a brother, and yes this was a powerful and entertaining story. But Merrick?

The reason I ask is (and understand that this is in no way a flame against you!) by revealing that Merrick is Buffy's real father, you've opened yourelf to some unintentional subtext, and not the fun Buffy/Willow kind. Y'see, the actor who played Merrick, Donald Sutherland, is the father of Kristine Sutherland, who played Joyce.

Were you aware of that? Just wondering. Because this does paint an unfortunate picture of a father and a daughter doing what God never intended them to do.  

Okay, yes, I can distinguish between fact and fiction, and yes I know that a different actress (who's name escapes me) played a far different and much less likable Joyce in the movie. So maybe it works. It's just -- strange, that's all.

Oh well, still a great read, and I can't wait to see what happens next inyour story. Take care and be kind to yourself,
