Wouldn't it be interesting if Buffy never really existed outside of 
Willow's psychotic and delusional imagination? And that Buffy was in 
fact Willow, who escapes from the mental hospital each night and 
kills innocent people believing them to be vampires...
and Giles was really Dr Giles, who runs the hospital (albeit badly) 
and Xander was Willow's rea-life brother who helps her to escape each 
night because she knows some terrible dark secret about him he 
doesn't want her to reveal...
Sort of like Fight Club meets Perfect Blue...
