Fic: The Captive (part 2/?)
Ok, this part sucks. I'm warning you now. You can still leave by
exercising the power of free will. If nothing can stop you though,
here it is.
The Captive Part Two
The wagon rolled forwards, bouncing and jostling about the crude
stone path, and the tired horses strained against their burden with
the sharp stings of leather that fell across their backs. The road
was lined with tall straight trees and limbs that crisscrossed the
sky and sent down a patchwork of green and blue, along with the
piercing white of the afternoon sun. Every once in a while, the trees
would clear and give way to pastures of grazing balls of wool and
lazy cows that flicked their tales to and fro, annoyed by the flies
and the heat and their own indolence. Sometimes there would be rows
of green topped with the yellow corn, where angry scarecrows
surveyed the fields and the families that toiled them. And still
the wagon journeyed on, until the peaceful houses gave way to the
magnificence of wealth.
The redhead lay against the floor, rolled tight in a ball to
avoid the other unfortunate souls that were taking this journey with
her. Her body seemed to scream in pain from the journey, a reminder
of the rough hands and feet that had taken her from her home. Caked
with mud and dust, her sapphire eyes lingered over the landscape,
while her mind dwelled on her destination. A week ago in the market
she had been cast upon a platform to be proked and prodded with the
eyes of strangers to be bought. It was the ugliest thing she had ever
seen, faces that were twisted with greed and indifference. She could
have been their sisters or their friends, but now she was a thing,
property. People began to call out prices and catcalls, but a voice
that came out of nowhere had claimed her, and the crowd had turned
its' head to glance at the outsider. Willow had looked, and there was
a girl, with long blonde hair and a flowing robe that sceamed money
and power, looking directly at her. The blonde's lips had curved into
a smile when she had met her eyes, and again Willow had resisted the
urge to faint. This girl, this gorgeous girl, had bought her and now
she was being taken to the arms of a stranger as the wagon rolled
forwards.
Eventually, the wagon came to rest and Willow struggled to
sit up. Marble pillars stretched before her, surrounded by tall
bright flowers and luscious roses the crawled up the sides. The cage
creaked open and two burly men grabbed her and pulled her out,
letting her drag against the ground before kicking her to the
doorstep. One on each side, the gaurds knocked on the door. After a
few seconds, a boy answered and looked down at the sight before him.
"Ah, I see Buffys new plaything has arrived," he said.

She had been nervous all day, a strange fluttering all through
my stomach, as I had waited for the girl to come. It was strange,
because Buffy was never anxious, and yet somehow every time she had
conjured up the picture of the redhead, she felt dizzy and light
headed. When the knock came, she started to pace back and face
through the room and then went to the door and listened as Alexander
answered it. She could hear the exchange and the rough voices as
money exchanged hands and the door closed.
"Whatever are we going to do with you?" she heard, and she couldn't
wait any longer. She made her way down the candlelit hall and down
the stairs, where they stood. Autopilot took command. "Xander, heat
some hot water and make a bath." And then he was gone and it was just
the two of them. Buffy looked at the girl, she was trembling, fearful
almost.

Ok, for real, I am so lazy, but I have the rest of the story
mapped out in my head, I just have to write it down. Which in some
ways is harder then it looks. I'm kind of worried about this next
part though, because it's going to be the bath scene, and that could
get pretty intense. What do you think, am I on the right track?
