Hey, I Seriously need a vacation. oof. Does anybody else believe they
got rid of the Gem of Amorah a little too easily? You were right, it
was two B's I have the black eye to prove it.
Eternal Slayer (5/?) - Strawberry fields
By MacBeth
Alexander Lavelle Harris laid in bed and thought about things for
the longest time in his life. His life with Anya in Hollywood had
started out perfectly. The construction company had made him a
partner, he convinced the others that commissions for hidden
compartments and passageways really were worth the money, and their
children were on the way.
So why was Anya mad at him for wanting to patrol twice a week? He
worked exclusively when Angel called him, Cordy was still a litle
cold to him. "Anya has nothig to worry about, Cordy and I are so much
history." he said aloud.
Feeling the empty space to the left, he sat up and swung his legs
out of bed. He suddenly smelled bacon and all thoughts left his head.
As he walked through the half renovated two-story towards the
kitchen, Xander mentally ran through what remained to be done to
finally make this old building into a home. The new walls needed to
be fully insulated, the half installed copper plumbing needs to be
finished, and Willow needs to fly out here to bless and sanctify the
grounds.
Willow. He hadn't heard from his oldest, bestest friend in over a
week. Slipping into the kitchen, he slipped his arms around the
widening waist of his wife, Anyanka Harris. She leaned back into his
arms and offered him a piece of bacon. Taking his treat, he kissed
Anya on the temple, rubbed her belly to say good morning to the kids,
and walked over to the computer Willow had sent them at the Council's
expense.
Rolling his eyes at the Christmas Snoopy scene Willow had left as
the backdrop, he logged on to the Watchers Net and checked his
E-mail. He opened the latest from Willow and read.

Hey Xand. Been a while, I know. The New council is giving me a
serious case of the GRRRS! I'll be out there as soon asap to bless
the grounds, K? Still no word on Dru, she disappeared completely. And
no, I am not seeing anyone and I don't intend to. I knew you were
going to ask so no. I've gotta go, Joe just walked in.
toodles,
Red.
Xander shut down the computer and shook his head. "She's still
alone, why did she and Tara break up?" he mused to himself.
"Because Willow doesn't love Tara... duh." came a voice over his
left shoulder. He turned and pulled his wife onto his lap. "And how
pray tell do you know this?" he tickled her on the ribs. "Stop, stop,
She, she realized who sh-she really loved. now stop!" Xander was
about to ask who, when the phone rang. Anya reached over and pulled
the cordless from the wall.
"Hello? Yes Angel, he's here." Anya thrust the phone into Xander's
midriff and got up to go into the kitchen. Sighing, he watched hs
wife walk off in a huff and put the phone to his ear. "Hey deadboy.
yes... yeah, I know where it is. Meet you at the Hyperion in twenty.
K, bye." He hung up the phone and strode to the kitchen.
"An? I have to go. They need me. I'll be back soon, I promise. Ok?"
"No. it's not ok. but go." she answered. she pulled him
close. "Don't let our children grow up without a father. ok?" she
whispered with tears in her eyes.
Xander hugged her tight and kissed her tenderly. "I love you
Anya." holding her for another moment and then walked to library. he
walked to a bookcase on the far wall, pulled on a hardbound copy of
Batman: No Man's Land, and grinned as the book case pulled back and
slid to the right. he walked down the spiral stair, out of the closet
and into the laundry room. stepping through another door into the
garage, he walked to his jeep, hopped in, and pulled out onto the
quiet street.
More later.
